There are very few planes parked lately. Seems to be after SU2 and also in SU3_beta, see image below from ESSA.
I the AI offline option for Aircraft Traffic Type and have Ultra on airport details. It used to be planes at all parking spots which looks nice. Now it looks like a ghost airport.
The plane in the red box is my, not an AI plane.
If you park and remain there quite long, 1 hour perhaps. There will popup some parked aircraft around you. But it takes some time and is still relatively empty. Definitely different from before.
Image below is an example from schipol after being parked around 1 hour and the image in the bottom shows what it looks like during taxiing to parking.
It could be related to the change introduced in 1.5.1:
- Generic passive aircraft have been removed from the game.
Perhaps (just an opinion) it’s now only injecting available traffic according to live traffic info, and there may be some issue.

Thanks for that observation — it does seem likely that it’s related to that.
However, the lower Schiphol image can’t be the intended result of that modification. There must be some issue; Schiphol shouldn’t have that few planes. Some kind of adjustment would be really welcome. In the meantime, I’ll try the live traffic option to see how that looks.
Are you sure this is AI OFFLINE as traffic method and no REAL TIME ONLINE?

would be typically me to have the wrong setting, but I have double checked this numerous time and it was the AI offline.
Just changed to AI real time to see what it looks like and now there are plenty more planes and some are moving around, looks very lively but introduces more stutters. Thats why I many times prefer the offline/ parked option.

Very interesting if you have moving airplanes, with latest su3 beta because aparently there is no trafficAircraft.bgl in the traffic folder. There should absolutely not have aircraft moving with AI OFFLINE method… unless traffic airport quality makes them move /taxiing after a while.

Air Traffic
- Parked aircraft now have a better mix of planes and liveries.
- Fix remaining cases where unoptimized models would be used for AI Traffic.
- Adjust ratio of parked aircraft to be spawned and fix issues that can lead to overcrowded airports.
- Fixed a problem where parked aircraft had a chance to not fully load the model and stay invisible.
Look like the team fixed it. BTW I like a lot this small and fast fixes, instead of the weekly.
I agree, the shortest the time a bug remains to be fixed, the better.
In my experience the show or no-show of AI planes at airports (parked or moving/flying about) has always been a matter of pure luck, no matter the settings in the Options menu. Granted, it’s more obviously a problem in 2024 than it was in 2020. I don’t know why the devs have never quite grappled with the issue. It seems like it should be easy to resolve.

I dont think there is moving traffic. I think its the OP taxiing as he stated. First picture would be parked after a while, second picture while taxiing. Can confirm no traffic_aircraft.bgl in su3 beta fs base/ai traffic.
