I see how that matters when you’re in a situation where you have to pick and choose certain graphics settings over others.
this is a less exaggerated example than mine. I used an extreme angle just so someone new to the ‘game’ could get a sense of it - why someone would change graphics settings based on an aircraft selection
I will say this: some people just actively look for “stuff” to complain about. I’ve seen both of the planes I regularly fly (CRJ and Islander) picked apart to the Nth degree about “stuff” I couldn’t care less about. And I am Mr. OCD who finds fault in everything. But honestly, sometimes ya just gotta have fun and enjoy…
the Cherokee proverb of the ‘two wolves’ comes to mind…I agree
Nice! I’m glad to hear there are people enjoying the Twin Otter.
I watched a ½ hour video on it on YouTube yesterday (since my gaming rig is down until the beginning of February) - It seemed like the reviewer enjoyed it. Watched from cold & dark to landing & shutdown. The sounds could be smoothed out a bit, but … aside from that I saw / heard nothing strange.
LOL people just want to get on the Internet and complain these days.
did it have a couple of ‘fly-by’ views in the middle of it by chance and no narration?
No, it was this one. 36 min long.
You can actually route the ATC speak to your headphones and the remaining sounds to your speakers.
Very neat and realistic experience.
Have the engine sounds rather high, with lots of bass rumble adding to the immersion.
Only sorry for my neighbour’s.
Have a volume controll on one of my (not very expensive) logitech speakers. A godsend as every plane has its own level.
I didn’t know that was possible. Pretty neat.
Been flying some 5 hours today trying out the AP and so far most have been good, and when not most likely user error.
This plane is growing on me. Like the quirkiness and steam gauges and the g530 that I haven’t touched since FSX. Actually pleased that there isn’t a gtn750.
You have to set it up in the sound setup on the computer…one Jack is for general sound and one for "communication " as far as I recall, and then in the sim sound setup chose…and here I cannot remember the setting name. Not at my computer.
Been doing that with the Kodiak - actually get vibration in the yoke from the bass at high power /rpm settings. Nice!
Honestly, I’m pretty critical about addon aircraft and I feel pretty good about this one. I was hesitant to purchase it at first due to the public reaction, but I’m glad I got it anyway. The sound is an issue, no doubt. There are some bugs too. But the FM feels good to me and the plane is fun to fly and pretty to look at too. I also like that the plane seems to somewhat adequately simulate the left turning tendances in prop driven aircraft (note that the twin otter is not counter-rotating). Just like IRL I need some right pedal on the T/O run and a little more on rotation (not a twin-otter pilot). For a while the sub-par simulation of this flight dynamic in addon and sim aircraft has fueled a frustration of mine. This is the first plane that feels like it got it kinda right and it’s pretty refreshing. I can see myself flying this thing a lot, especially when the little issues get ironed out. I’m happy w/ the purchase.
People get worked up over the most inconsequential “stuff”. There was a guy who was upset that an antenna on the Islander pointed the wrong way. I swear to you.
I wouldn’t get upset, but I would report it as a defect.
Literally unplayable.
Man I can’t wait to check out the Twin Otter in February!
haha funny.
REMINDER: The Otter is getting its update TODAY - great Just downloading it
