Very smooth performance even on PC! Thank you Dev Team!

Just wanted to say that performance has been extremely smooth and stable on my PC set up.

In order to make the sim even smoother with SU16, I am using Rivatuner Statistics Server to lock the FPS to 100. This allows for a more consistent frame time. You don’t want just high frame rates; you also need them to be consistent for smoothness! My monitor being 144Hz and GSync really helps with this as well. The sim maintains a steady 100 fps at a majority of airports. Taxiing is also much better; there’s a noticeable reduction in stuttering compared to SU15 when panning the camera or turning the aircraft on the ground.

The only issues that stand out to me have been the water tiles, trees in the water and some artifacts with the camera at certain airports (PHNY) and artifacts on some ground vehicles but performance is a step in the right direction! I hope the team can get those things sorted out soon.

My system is as follows:

Windows 11 Pro x64
Corsair iCue H170i LCD AIO
AMD 9800X3D 5.4GHz OC/PBO 200MHz/Negative 40 Curve Offset
ROG Crosshair X870E Motherboard
NVIDIA RTX 4090 Asus Strix OC
Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MHz EXPO CAS 30
990 Pro 4TB Gen 4 NVME SSD
Sound Blaster X Pro Gaming AE-5 Plus DAC
Dual Monitors - 32GR93U 4K 144Hz GSync and 27GL850 144Hz GSync

Thank you so much dev team for all your hard work!

100 fps??? :face_holding_back_tears:

I expect to win the lottery tonight. After that I’ll replicate your setup. Thanks for the list. There must be a hidden secret in there.

Yes, 100 FPS. I’ll consider making a YouTube video on how I achieve those results. It’s very immersive honestly. I think a lot of people struggle with performance because they don’t know how to optimize their systems or know which parts work best together. I’m a former validation technician for a semiconductor company, I won’t say which one but I don’t think it’s hard to guess lol.. but that experience has helped me to optimize my set up fully.

My addons:
FS Realistic Pro
Active Sky
REX Atmos
GSX Pro
Orbx Sceneries

Payware Aircraft:
PMDG 777
PMDG 737
Leonardo MD80
Fenix A320
Inibuilds A350

I also run MS Edge, and OBS on the side to stream to Twitch.

Mine is now a lot smoother too, even minor stutters I used to have are very minimal. Probably it’s because I just reverted to 566.14 (apart from SU 16)

Nice, although I’m pretty sure it’s SU16 itself, I reverted back to SU15 and the micro stutters would re-appear.

I notice there’s a voting button at the top. What exactly are we voting for?

I guess in this case it means vote if you agree lol.

Last drivers are worst than that one?

Since I am using 30 series card, I found the .14 is a lot smoother and easier for the GPU temp. Some people also claimed 566.34 for 40 series removes stutters too (albeit in 2024). So the .14 removes my 2020 stutters and more stable FPS in 2024. But probably, SU 16 does the trick not the driver per se.

I would also like to know, is it confirmed that the current SU 16 revamps ground textures? I rarely fly 2020 now but when I did last night, the lighting on the ground is rather different. Maybe because I have been carried away with 2024, but I definitely see alteration (and I feel positive about it). Did the dev mention about this explicitely?

Sim is working great for me. Small stutter around airports But getting over 100 fps with frame gen. Only have a RTX3070Ti. 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-12700KF (3.60 GHz) All settings high end. Using Latest Nvidia driver an Nvidia app set on latest.

Try using RTSS and locking your FPS to 100, it’ll smooth out the frame times and will be noticeably smoother!

If you can’t get smooth performance on a PC that costs around £3,000 in a 5 year old game then probably best to give it up.

Night flying feels different, 1000 feet using R66, simply astonishing. Love those lights. Flew by my neighborhood and the texture is clearly revamped (there are big buildings which are not definitely theee IRL but I’ll take it). Btw I just received 40MB ish patch.

Historically, MSFS has always been difficult to run because it always pushes the limits of current hardware.

When is SU16 going to be released?

No probs so far. Very smooth on PC with Pico VR and PMDG 737.

Good work I would say…assuming the improvements are maintained. So, well done Asobo.
