It would be very useful to have some extra functionality built into the VFR Map (unless it is already there, and I have somehow missed it, which is quite possible since as a real world pilot of 50 plus years I typically react to RTFB like I do to asking for directions!).
Over at Brand X (or perhaps more accurately Brand XI), their equivalent map allows one to look up all sorts of info on anything that shows up there, such as VOR’s, airports, and the suchlike, merely by clicking on it. And wonder of wonders, you can tune those with another click, right into your radios!
Our VFR map here does have one capability that the other one does not - the ability to scroll anywhere, and not just to within a certain area. But, even though it is loaded with all sorts of airports, VOR’s, NDB’s and the like, you can discern not a single thing about those stations when you click on them, at least in all of the combinations I have tried (such as alt- and ctrl- and the like). This capability would be very useful, and it would even preclude the necessity of spending a bunch of extra dough on chart services, to say nothing of the need to keep an iPad with ForeFlight on it hard by the Honeycomb Alpha!
