And for all people suffering from that, there is a workaround. In the world map always select preset clear sky. After spawning in the airplane, only then switch to live weather with the weather selection in the top bar. Works all the time.
Kudos goes out to whoever first posted this elsewhere (did a search but couldn’t find it again)
Just thought it might be worth bringing it to people’s attention again as I’ve been using this workaround for a few days now and the live weather is working 100% with it so far.
Follow these steps and you should get live weather wherever you are.
Choose your departure airport.
Choose preset weather to clear skies. (DO NOT choose live weather at this point)
Spawn at your chosen departure poi…

At least the barometer is now correct instead of 29.92…but cloud cover went from partly cloudy to no clouds, just like it used to. Easy to reproduce…load a flight, back out to main menu, load the same exact flight.
