I request that Microsoft and Asobo add better support for the Virpil line of controllers akin to the support Thrustmaster, Turtle Beach and other controllers have. While my Virpil joystick is recognized in the Control Options it’s a blank page with a question mark silhouette, unlike my Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle where all the buttons and axis’ are noted, numbered, and easily identified making setup much easier. Does Virpil need to provide more info to Asobo or do you just need to add some data to MSFS 2020 to make this happen? I know I am not the only one using Virpil products in this sim.
Using Virpil as well and can absolutely understand your point.
On the other hand, the nice graphics are just eye-candy.
It would be better to enhance the Controls-Options experience completely.
- Reduce the long loading times.
- Make controls bindable to different planes, so they get loaded automatically.
I agree it’s really just eye candy. Virpil parts are also very interchangeable so I’m not sure how they would have the screen adapt to the various builds people use.
You can just use the scan option instead of selecting the button from a dropdown menu. It’s quicker that way too. I would like to have better native support for red flip switches though.
As I type this, I just realized I broke my USB cable for the stick base. ![]()
Xplane allows you to create these controller profiles yourself if it’s not in the default list. What tends to happen is someone will do a nice one for the community and it will get added into the base sim at a later date. Would be nice to see this so we can add them ourselves. I have the same thing with my Fulcrum Yoke.
You have to do the calibration in Windows as well as the Virpil software, if I recall.
