Excellent visual representation of the 747 heat blur on take-off in the above post. I agree that you see that. Nicely done.
But…
Travelling at 480 kts TAS at 30,0000ft (at much reduced actual thrust), is a different animal. Even if you look immediately behind the engine exhaust it is very difficult to see, and it certainly doesn’t gently wave about, as in MSFS right now.
I think the slow wavy blur is inappropriate for ALL aircraft, regardless of speed.
I speak with 20,000 hrs real time (a large part of which was on 747s for what that’s worth), just to qualify a recent post in this. I’m also a avid simmer for 20 years plus.
I think the heat blur is an unnecessary fabrication in MSFS.
On the other hand - (these are small issues) - it’s an excellent sim/game.
Please don’t start me on the turbulence discussion…
