I wish there was some visual feedback when you do things like toggle parking brake on and off, landing gear, autopilot etc. It would be able to be turned off or on and if on there would be a text message telling you what you just did. This is important enough when using a control that sets the absolute state as in autopilot on but is even more important when it’s a toggle. Perhaps there could be a new log window which has all these messages so people can turn it on or off, mice and resize it.
I would also like status of parking brake, landing gear, autopilot added to the external view HUD (and a turn indicator or artificial horizon).
When aircraft are certified this is something that has to be complied with. So every control should have a physical means or an indication to let you know how it’s set. It can sometimes be difficult to see the state of something in the sim that would otherwise be obvious in the real aircraft and for those cases you could use an external interface such as Air Manager to provide you status on whatever you wanted. It’s a bit like some aircraft having a brakes on annunciation but external to the sim. You could even make a transparent window and overlay it on the sim window if you wanted.

Ah well. Perhaps think about mentioning that important aspect in the title then.

It’s not relevant to my wish. I would like it added for xbox and pc.
Maybe not but it’s relevant to someone like me trying to help by giving a suggestion of how you can do this right now if you were on PC. If I knew it was for an Xbox user then I obviously wouldn’t of made said suggestion.

Not a fan of text messages popping up, one of the things I dislike about IL2.
I think most of this comes down to the individual aircraft devs and how the “real” plane behaves.
For instance, parking brake. Have you noticed that some aircraft the pedals visually move or perhaps there’s a slight squeak when you push the relevant control.
In lieu of there not being a visible LED or lever movement, this is more than adequate.
Maybe if this is something that could be added as a switchable option, for example in accessibility for those with poor eyesight and/or hearing.

For PC users only:
You can visualize and modify the status of many things by using MSFS HudBar.

Likewise. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gone to taxi, only to find I’m not moving because the parking brake was set and I couldn’t see it
Look at your pedals, most models have very clear visuals indications when the parking brake is engaged, even the most basic CAS Cub. Both toe brakes will be pushed forward in park.
For landing gear it’s rare to not have a visual lever or indicator light(can’t think of one without a lever or switch-what would the clickspot be on then?). Use two buttons dedicated up and down rather than a toggle(heel brakes in the J3, etc).
Autopilot also nearly always has some indication of it being on and what mode. Unless it’s modeled incorrectly. Plus the audible disconnect of course.

We still need these indicators in plain, more readable hud form in the same way there is a hud you can turn on while in cockpit. You could say we don’t need speed, vertical speed, compass etc. because it’s all there in the aircraft but we still have this optional hud to make it more readable
