Vive Pro 2 running on GTX1070 / i5 4670k

I didn’t think it was worth even trying to run MSFS in VR on my setup but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the performance here. I don’t know if it’s down to the recent improvements with HTC’s implementation of motion smoothing for the VP2 or just generally having settings on OFF or Low/Medium but it’s running much better than I expected. Thought this might give some hope to those with “ancient” cards and CPU like myself.
Running in Performance mode in the Vive Console, Steam VR global 150%, MSFS Render Scale 100 works out just under 1500x1500 per eye. I’m able to get a steady 30fps motion smoothing up to 120, clarity is obviously not amazing but definitely usable.
I’ve tried to capture video through the lens of the headset but not had much success, it looks much worse than it actually is when wearing the headset but does capture the motion smoothing doing it’s thing for better or worse. (Don’t judge me on the landing, I’ll go with Chuck Yeager’s definition of a good one here)

You could maybe test out the openxr nis scaler tool for a sharper image. Have to say your system seems really mismatched for that headset but glad to hear that you find it playable with fs2020.

Thanks, I’ll try that. I’ve got access to another system with a 3070/5600 but not as much access as I’d like and MSFS hasn’t been installed on it yet. I’ll upgrade my own once/if decent cards become more readily available.
