That’s interesting but inaccurate for the A320. The only thing the A320 will do is show “DECELERATE” on the ECAM if YOU the pilot doesn’t dial in a lower altitude and either push or pull the altitude knob. And you won’t see that message on the default A320 either.

Mostly, yes. OP DES commands idle thrust and uses pitch to maintain the speed you’ve set in the speed window. It also doesn’t adhere to any crossing restrictions which aren’t implemented in the base A320 as we all know.
