Are there any real voice comms planned for this “GAME”?
Could you have not asked this question in a less provocative manner?
Whats wrong?
I’m going to assume that “GAME” was added to trigger some people.
what makes you say that?
Currently you can do group flights in conjunction with using voice on a Discord voice room.
VATSIM’s VPilot has been updated to work with MSFS (bit lagy though) this supports communication with other pilots and ATC.
Pilot Edge is working on a client to work with MSFS, providing the same type of comms as VPilot.
I believe IVAO is also working on clients for their on-line service.
Ignoring the first 4 comments…
The thing is…in RL, aircraft to aircraft transmissions don’t occur very often…like hardly ever. Any frequency you’re on is either ATC controlled (ie you talk to ATC only, ATC talks to all aircraft), advisory (ie you make announcements of your intentions…which, technically, is a transmission to other aircraft but you’re not expecting a reply) or UNICOM…in which case you don’t tie up the airwaves with conversations about the weather with other pilots.
The only real reason you’ve got to want VOIP is if you’re talking to a human being manning ATC…and VATSIM includes VOIP so we’re good.
If you want private comms with other aircraft you’re flying with…use your own. Discord / skype / teamspeak…whatever.
ok, native would be nice, just tune a freq. and talk to all pilots in area on same freq…
