Ahhh got it, canāt believe I was missing it. Also, I noticed there is a screenshot feature. i have created the screenshot folder, but still donāt know how to take a screenshot. Can you let me know how?
I believe thatās a premium/paid feature. I havenāt used it.
I use both. I like STKP to keep up with my fleet of aircraft. I like Volanta (premium) for the auto save function.
The main thing I dislike about Volanta is that it constantly adds a new aircraft instead of using the one I have in my fleet. This is likely because I often forget to change my tail number in the sim until itās too late.
Does anyone know how Volanta decides what screenshots to show me from other users? Is it just random? I wish it would show more.
This is easily fixed. I have tail numbers assigned to each livery of each plane I fly. When starting a flight in the sim, enter the tail number of the plane youāve put in your fleet in Volanta. Once you load the flight, Volanta will recognize the tail number you entered and all of your stats will be attributed to the plane assigned. Easy stuff. Thatās my AAL 78X with its stats and flights flown.
Does Volanta have a touchdown marker showing exact position of where in runway you made touchdown?
In Simtool kit pro, it shows a map of runway showing the treshhold and where exactly you made touchdown. Itās pretty handy to show if you are landing centerline.
Sure does. Thereās now a 3D rendering of your flight path and elevation as well. Pretty cool stuff.
Is there a way of importing previous flight details that Ive got stored in custom XML files (from my VAs)?
I was using STKP but I would get occasional CTDs. I switched to Volanta and no problems with stability. I like the STKPās embedded charts and some of the features Volanta doesnāt have, but not at the cost of crashes. Volantaās weather overlay is awesome.
Hey Guys,
I have been playing around with Volanta and SimtoolkitPro and trying out some of the features of each. I think thereās room for both, but one of my main questions that came up in my research is:
-Whatās the quality of SimtoolkitProās real world schedules and why is Volanta attempting to charge for something that is currently free elsewhere?
STKP makes it so easy to find a real-world flight by airline and length of flight, then run a preflight prep on it through SimBrief. It also puts Navigraph, Skyvector and other resources right at your fingertips.
I really like the clean layout of Volanta and I am glad that both allow data migration so that we can continue to use both as we see fit.
Wondering what others think.
Iāll be honest. I purchased Premium Volanta. I like the schedules map however, the schedules are quite out of date. I believe they are bringing them to weekly but not sure when. Not sure of the speed of development either.
I use both as I like Volanta for assigning flights to aircraft etc but I like the landing reports in STKP
Used Volanta for a long time but iām right now changing to stkp, allready imported my Volanta flights.
Pros
Free or15ā¬ /year
SID/STAR are shown
Navigraph Integration
VfR planner
Able to run on a different PC
Features for streaming
Iām also using Volanta for long time and planning to switch to STKP, how did you export your Volanta flights and imported them to STKP?
Thanks in advance.
Volanta has an export button where it can export your data to a file you can download and then import into simtoolkitpro.
How does the autosave function works? Letās say Iām into my last hour of my 11hours long haul flight and suddenly I have a CTD (not speaking from experience no no ā¦ ). Does it allow to get everything back as I was when CTD happened? (Position,MCDU, Panels, AP ā¦ all that stuff)
Also does STKP has the autosave feature too?
If I remember correctly, itās mostly just the position. Your flight plan wonāt be there anymore, so Iāve not found it to be all that useful. I still have premium, but Iāve disabled auto renewal because I find it to be too expensive for what it is. Iām not going to continue using it. (Iāve been doing the annual subscription, which has been converting to around $75 USD per year.
STKP doesnāt have auto save as far as I know.
Thanks for your reply!
So basically itās just like loading the flight plan back into MSFS world map and select the last waypoint you were around and start from there Iām still a bit confused because iāve read some other post where people said it saved the state of the plane (saw it for pmdg plane). I could give it a shot tho, premium is not much for a month
Iām currently trying the two softwares and Iām really not sure to like any of them.
Design wise, Volanta is much better. Simtoolkit is very hard to read and slow. Flight route appear as a very tiny line which is grey on black. While Volanta line is purple and much bigger.
On the other side, adding an aircraft to your fleet is a pain in Volanta. On STKP you have a list of aircraft you can use, while on Volanta you need to add the aircraft ICAO, but even then doesnāt add a default image of the aircraft and doesnāt work with the simbrief integration.
Talking about Simbrief, Volanta flight planner is much easier to use, but like I said doesnāt take your aircraft under consideration like if you simply use Simbrief directly. But I love the fact that you can see all information about your flight directly in Volanta. STKP on the other side, I tried to create a flight plan using Simbrief integration, but it didnāt work. I donāt know if I did something wrong, but nothing appeared after generating the flight.
STKP has VFR planning support which is a bit useless if you are normally using MSFS World map and donāt want to go in depth into your flight planning, but itās a plus to have. However, I find the tracking of your flight very bad. I did a VFR flight and my aircraft was showing, but when I ended my flight, my flight route is only showing as a straight and very small line between departure and arrival airport instead of showing everything I did and visited.
Speed: Volanta is faster for me. When I click on a place in STKP, it can take up to 1 min before loading what this person is doing and its flight path (sometime not even showing up) while on Volanta itās instant. Also the map on STKP take forever to load sometime.
IVAO: Volanta doesnāt support IVAO ATC coverage.
Real life schedule: STKP have it for free, but itās really basic. Volanta itās a paid option, but you can see all flights from the map which I find more intuitive, but will never use because I donāt pay.
Local account: STKP allow local account while Volanta you need to register.
So overall, none are perfect and there is a lot of room for improvement. In the meantime, I think I will probably use simbrief only and import directly into MSFS.
I wanted to use a software to see everything Iām doing in my World Tour, but itās not possible with STKP bad VFR tracking and with Volanta adding an aircraft is complicated if you donāt know ICAO code without looking at Google/Bing.
