Busy perhaps ? Park up somewhere and listen in and try and see some sort of pattern. I haven’t seen a problem. One trick which I haven’t tried on MSFS but works on X-Plane is to connect somewhere, put COM1 and COM2 on the same frequency (find one not in use nearby) and talk to yourself, which loops it through VATSIM’s servers (most tests in clients miss the server out).
