Can anyone advise if I have a setting problem or is this just the way it is . On a system with 10700 and 3090 I can get a steady 40-45fps with most tubeliners inc pdmg 737 and H787, more with GA aircraft .This is using VD 80hz (godlike or Ultra ) with shadows / reflections all set to low, DX12. But when using my favourite Fenix, say goodbye to 10-12 FPS . In 2D, fps is similar to other aircraft, only suffer the loss in VR weirdly.
Any ideas folks ?

I don’t know if you can tune your settings more, but I also think the Fenix is a bit heavy on frames. My system is a 14900k and 4090 setup with a Quest 2. I can lock in at 45fps (half my 90hz refresh rate) using the link cable and oculus app… TAA/DX11 and I am usually livestreaming, so that means OBS is running which takes away a little performance. Oh, and almost always on VATSIM, so there is some traffic.
Anyway, yeah with the Fenix, things do get a little more stutter-y and frames dip under 45 from time to time. But it’s still very much playable and I wouldn’t say I notice a 10 FPS drop… maybe due to the GPU/CPU combo I have… don’t know.
But you aren’t alone in having the Fenix be one of the more resource-intensive aircraft in the sim. Still… I do love the Fenix! 
I have the same problem. I own a ton of add-on aircraft, and every single one gives adequate performance, except for the Fenix. I could never figure out why (I’ve had it since day one, but can’t fly it because of the bad performance). Pimax Chrystal with 4090 user here. The fps with the Fenix is half to 2/3 of that for other planes, and very stuttery.
