Interested to see how people see this working with yokes? I either fly with a yoke or a joystick depending on the aircraft I fly to keep the realism. But if I throw the controllers into the mix, will we be getting 3D hands and then utilising the in sim yoke and Joystick? Thoughts??
I can only dream. Hand tracking works but so far the only physical device that is mapped into the virtual space AFAIK is one keyboard by Logitech (for the Quest 2 anyway). I don’t recall the model right now. I get the difficulty. The have to have the device 3D model accurately so the HMD can recognize it from any angle in any lighting condition, even with other things partially obstructing the view of it. It is a tall order I know but it would be oh so sweet.
For most VR users (in other flight sims that support VR controllers) they don’t use the VR controllers to grip the virtual yoke or throttle, they continue to use their HOTAS setup for flying the aircraft, but then the VR controllers for everything else.
This is exactly how I did it in xplane. Right hand with controller for throttle, trim, flaps, etc. Although before I had my yoke I used controller for yoke and it was actually really great in x-plane.
