VR CTD Shortly After Activating

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Whenever I start playing MSFS 2024 in VR, the game crashes before I can even launch a flight. I will be in the menus or selecting an aircraft and it will just CTD. I think this is a crash related to the amdxc64.dll driver with RX 7900XTX. I’ve reinstalled drivers and it hasnt’ helped. All other VR games run fine, this is a Microsoft issue.

Same problem, except with a Quest 2, 5700 X3D, 64GB, and a RX 6700 XT.

Happens on Oculus Link via USB and both SteamXR and Oculus XR, Steam Link via Wifi and SteamXR, and Virtual Desktop via Wifi and VDXR. The problem is not any particular VR system, as it happens the same way on all three. The problem is related to the graphics.

Update: I fixed it for me by uninstalling Oculus / Meta Horizon Link. It now works through Steam Link / SteamVR just fine wirelessly.

i have found a cause and a solution regarding oculus and possibly others…

OpenXr Reshade is active

i notices in openxr explorer but couldnt remember how it got activated, and i couldnt find how to deactivate it

i deactivated it by opening steam vr going to openxr, layers and deactivating it

as you can see i have oculus as my openxr provider

restart and vr now just works…

i use link cable btw
