VR + Hand Tracking = Ultimate Home Cockpit?

Excited about the release of VR but no mention yet of any support for hand tracking now or in the future. Not sure what the current state of hand-tracking is among VR headsets but the reason I’m waiting for this tech is because it would completely change the concept of a home cockpit. A VR/Hand-tracked cockpit could be just a bunch of bare plywood built to hold the physical controls (yoke, throttle, pedals) in the proper place as the actual aircraft. More plywood would make the instrument panels upon which you would have dead knobs and buttons that you can push and turn but don’t actually do anything since the sim would detect the buttons/knobs in the in-game panel you are manipulating. It would be so cheap to build, you could have several cockpit layouts you could swap between. How awesome would that be??
