The much asked question. However, the temptation is festering to upgrade my VR Headset. Time and funds are sadly limited for me at my current life state. So, the only question is could I maintain a similar performance or would I take a huge hit?
Currently have an old Lenovo Explorer WMR, on a Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 2060. Not amazing but I get 20-30fps and it does me just fine. The visual quality of the headset is so-so in terms of colours, brightness and contrast with a reasonable screen door effect.
I’m considering a Meta quest 2, which can be purchased for a reasonable price here. A used GPU upgrade could be on the cards but I could always do that later and at least benefit from a better visual display in the meantime (at the expense of downscaled resolution to maintain performance?)
