You’re ahead of me in the use of VR - I’ve got a Valve Index on the way - with bass stations.
I’ve not gone for any DDR5 / AM5 / Z690+ yet - So all my boards are older boards such as X570 / X99 / X299 / Z490 / Z590 / Z97 / Z170 /Z270 / Z370 - I’ve got some really good boards and some really average boards - and the same for CPU’s and the same for GPU’s.
I don’t always have to be using top of the line but it is nice to have a 6900 XT or RTX 3070 / 4070 Ti etc… - And I definitely would use a lesser CPU with a lesser headset and it would be many times greater than anything I grew up with like arcade games ! - Just no comparison!
What is the least good GPU that could get 22.5 FPS using a Vive Pro? - Would a GTX 1070 get this on MSFS 2020? - Or would a GTX 1080 Ti be needed? - Your input is greatly appreciated - Thanks
Hi,
My experience with the Crystal is very good.
Although I do have a base station I don’t use it with the Crystal. The tracking works just fine for me.
Well, I think I had a 1080ti when I first bought MSFS and was MS down to 22.5 but that was early days when MSFS seemed to run a lot better than it seems to today :). I doubt a 1070 would cope in VR tbh.
OK BazzaLB - on MSFS the 1070 1080 Ti may struggle even with the HTC Vive Pro - In time I’ll try things out.
On a nice wide screen whether in 1080 or 1440 it is possible to immerse yourself a little in 2D and still get a good experience with a lower GPU like 1070 or 1080.
It sounds like then that RX 5700 XT 6700 XT - or RTX 3070 may be entry level good for VR - ?
I use Crystal only for simming. For this type of use Crystal headset tracking works without issue for me.
I went through Half Life Alyx with Reverb G2, unfortunately other than sims I can’t find any room scale game comparable to HLA (and I don’t like killing zombies with an axe).
