VR is still in beta, why?

Thanks for your support and good intentions.

The issue that creates a divide such as this, is that everything works and then it doesn’t. That is on MSFS and not the users. I accept that it may be a continuing process of minor adjustments in numerous programs as a constant process of discovery by the VR users, but honestly as much as the VR experience is really one of the best things in my life, I’m not prepared to be constantly working on this to make it run.

I’ve been fighting software and hardware since the 90s and my assessment is that it is not worth it. Others enjoy the challenge, whereas I just have decades of fatigue.

No one can explain why some have issues with the latest NVIDIA drivers and others don’t. I did a reinstall and now the new driver works, which suggests either something is broken by the MSFS updates, there are variations in the different downloads of the same version, or there is no rational explanation.

With XPlane 11 I reinstalled numerous times and even though it was the same latest version, they were different in aircraft setups, program behaviour and controller bindings. MSFS could be the same as there wouldn’t be a one and only installer path on their servers, but numerous. They may be different.

It is a good call to explore Oculus link again as a backup. If I can get the Oculus App to start, I will get it setup so when SteamVR fails me again I have options. The quality was very low the last time I used Oculus link, but if I can put aside a big chunk of time, I’ll get it set up.

I’m not a fan of Discord, but thanks for the offer.
