VR specs advice

So, I’m looking at getting into VR… My current specs are:

Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-2135 CPU @ 3.70GHz

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080

32 GB RAM

What sort of performance could I expect in VR with these specs?

Does anyone have any recommendations in terms of a headsets? I was looking at the quest 2.

Thank you!

VR is game changer. I will not play in pancake mode ever again. Give it go, you will need you to spend time in optimizing your system and I think you can expect to have smooth “Medium” settings experience. Not too familiar with your CPU (single core with high ghz is preferred if you can overclock your CPU) Folks with 2060 and 2070 seem to have decent experience with both Quest 2 and HP Reverb G2.
I have both headsets and would extremely recommend HP Reverb G2 over Quest 2 for MSFS.

Thanks guys. Yeah looking like the Reverb is worth the extra money.

i have i7 3.6Ghz, 2080 + 32Gb Ram… depending on what games you like, I have recently changed over from a HP reverb due to the continuous problems encountered frequently over the last year… I have recently acquired a Pimax 8KX and can say it has a much wider field of view, much larfer sweet spot and the graphics are equal or better. Have not tried it with MSFS yet as been to busy in playing war thunder atm

I think the most important thing to be aware of when transitioning to VR is that you must be prepared to lower your expectations when it comes pure level of detail and resolution.

No matter what the PC specs, there is a trade off, converting from 2d to 3d.

I run a Ryzen 5 3600, 32gb ram and a 2060 super and I still have a lot of settings on high and the rest medium.

Frame rate may get a little iffy when scanning sideways on the ground but it’s a small price to pay for the massive leap in immersion when moving to VR.

Once I’d tried VR, there was no going back.

Yeah. I’m happy to trade some detail and resolution for some extra emersion. Fully expect there to be a lot of optimising and tweaking to get things running well.

Just weighing up which headset to go for. I’m limited for time at the moment so won’t get chance to use it as much as I’d like. Might just go for a quest 2 to get my toes wet.
