I think the answer is fairly straightforward: If you lost your only plane, you should be eligible for a subsidised C172.
I’m all for consequences, and making you start over again is fine. However, currently, it leaves you off WORSE than you started.
Simply making the first plane permanently subsidised would resolve this.
