The punishment for career mode is so brutal it’s like late 80s game design. With the highest insurance, you get 80% back (currently broken and you actually get 0%), but even then you will still have to play for around 20 hours or so real time to buy another 172.

I’ve seen claims that the insurance payout is based on the $25,000 price tag for the starter plane.
Is that incorrect?
