Wake Turbulance in MP - Disruptive Players

Curious just how far off in the distance these planes are. Very far seems to be the normal answer.

Now if they are closer I might just be able to test out the wake turbulence issue.

If you want to check out the Wake Turbulence, please do it with another “Consenting” Player -

ie do not go about in MP looking for trouble and upsetting other innocent players @@@

It happens with my friends as well. Map shows them as close, follow their detail box yet they are somewhere else entirely.

Depends very much on where YOU are. Spawn in at a big city or well-known location with your multi-player settings set to All and you will see a lot of multi-player traffic: the two main NYC airports; San Francisco; Honolulu; St. Bart’s and St. Maarten in the Caribbean, etc.

That would be because multiplayer traffic doesn’t show up on the map. You only see Live Traffic or SimConnect injected planes on your map.

I always play in multiplayer but have almost never seen another player. I guess I’m mostly flying where others are not, and at a different time. I’d not be too fussed even if they were doing stupid things, it would be a novelty. I had the same problem playing Elite in open mode.

The one time I did see other players was when I jumped on over to Lukla to give it a go. I soon saw other players doing stupid stuff there and it was funny to watch, so I just sat back for an hour and plane spotted.

The last time I flew it was in the F/A 18 so I could taken in some new scenery and see what’s changed in the old scenery with PG on and off. 1 flight was around Tahiti and the other was SEATAC. At SEATAC I followed some jets (from the labels looked like system generated AI following flight plans) on approaches into SEATAC to practice maintaining distance. Then I buzzed them and landed. I hope these were the system generated AI. I have flown in groups and recognize the live player tags.

From Crunchmeister above I now remember these were planes that did show up on the Radar/Map.

Sounds like you’re asking for exactly what networks like Vatsim and IVAO provide.

Yeah, I’ve done some Vatsim. Thing is, there’s typically not very good coverage where I like to fly. And where there’s a lot of coverage, the place is busy and chaotic, which I don’t find particularly enjoyable, even though it may be quite realistic.

I’ve been using Pilot2ATC. That with MP disabled is kind of that sweet middle ground for me that I’m enjoying. It gets me talking and comfortable with the lingo (a bonus for Vatsim as well), and I don’t have to deal with all the MP players everywhere.
