Wake turbulence

It would greatly add to the immersion as well as for training if wake turbulence would be simulated accurately depending on the category of the aircraft.

What I would like to see is that if I fly in a small GA and follow a airline on final too closely that there would be a realistic effect of the turbulence.

The same for landing after an airline with simulation of the turbulence being stationary on the runway for a while, depending on wind conditions.

In addition the effect of the jet blast of an airline takeoff on arriving GA traffic would be cool to have simulated.

Won’t be implemented, you can use it to grief people.

There isn’t even normal turbulence when flying commercial jets let alone wake turbulence lol.

An easy soultion to that is to add toggle options for ON, AI TRAFFIC ONLY, and OFF. While having it default to AI Traffic Only

True, this would be a good solution for people concerned about multiplayer influence. I usually fly on vatsim and in this case I would very much welcome to have the effect from others, in the most realistic way.

it would add more realism +1 vote

Been flying a lot for work lately, and SEA, LAX, and SFO are all great illustrators of how common wake turbulence is. And occasionally, a bit scary.

Really would love to see this one.

I would like to see wake turbulence and jet blast modeled. Although in multiplayer mode at a large airports, it can be a massive, chaotic, free for all. The physics for that might get tough to model.

Even AI airplanes could cause some major problems as they regularly plow through other airplanes, parking, etc. I had one the other day run me over from behind. Quit startling when it happens in VR.

Wake turbulence (CFD) is now modeled in MSFS 2024, as shown here:
