Thanks. I’ll try that, but I really hate workarounds for things that are supposed to work. But…c’est la vie!
It took a few tries, but I got them.
I had to walk in at a right angle to the glass cockpit until I bumped into it, then backed off a few steps, turned towards the chocks and presto!
Thanks so much for that. Very helpful.
Why oh why couldn’t we just click on the blue dot?
It worked! Started a flight, shutdown, began again from cold & dark loading a flight plan from the EFB to the Garmin! And a cool surprise at the end of my flight…
For the Bell 407 starting cold and dark, I just pressed SHIFT-C on my keyboard and I was instantly sitting it the pilot seat. This was sort of accidental because somewhere here I read to use CTRL-C and I remembered it wrong! Sure beats wandering around looking how to figure it out.
Thanks Asobo! If you would give us a clue as to how to do the walkaround in the sim, I would do it. Why not put instructions for this in the EFB? Otherwise I refuse to waste 20 minutes right now to figure it out, or reading 5 different Google links.
There could not be a better test for psychological patience and perseverence in the face of seemingly insurmountable difficulties, than the release of a new sim by Asobo.
Interesting. Does doing that clear all the walk-around tasks? Chocks, pitot covers, and the like?
No Shift C just puts you in the cockpit.
You still need to do all the removals.
I’m one of those pilots who can’t walk and chew gum kinda’ pilots. So today I did a few GA flights starting at the nearest runway end to the apron of choice. Used the short taxi in to troubleshoot my controller bindings (not just a few LOL) and fine-tune my personal shutdown checklists outside the sim. Then, after a bathroom break or soft drink, start the intended flight after transferring the flight plan from the EFB to avionics. Sounds silly, but actually was quite satisfying, more so than walking around in 2024!
Yes Shift-C did not let me start it. I can turn everything on and start the rotor moving but it won’t start the engine.
Ctrl-E starts the engine in most aircraft.
Start the flight on the runway and enter Cold & Dark mode using Ctrl-Shift-E. Some aircraft may have their own specific Cold & Dark procedures. Then, use Slew Mode to position the aircraft at a parking spot.
I cannot get the chocks removed either. Clicking on the blue dot inspects the tyre. It should not be this hard.
Hi,
Neither can’t I!
Asobo has complicated very very much our experience in MS2024.
I wonder why!
Regards
Oh my gosh…I just played with this silly " Career Mode ". And in that mode the made an option where you hit ALT+N to skip the pre-flight checks. So they KNEW it was stupid and to avoid it bothering people in the new Career Mode they made a skip option.
But for us long time flight simulator folks they made no such option. That is only in the silly new Career Mode. That makes it is even worse than I thought it was!
You can’t start them if the engine covers are still on.
