I wish Asobe would read this. If they do then what’s the holdup? It’s “only” been 90 days! STILL can’t fly since last update…been 2 weeks!
While Asobo may scan the forums, it’s not a proper way of reporting. Use zendesk for that. This forum is self-help by community members.
Zendesk is a database - bug tracker - and not monitored by a person on every incoming request.
I’ve used the ticketing 4 times for help…I’ve received a reply to only one.
It is crazy right that so much trouble and alterations to systems have to be done to run one game… Which tells me there is no proper exception handling programmed whatsoever.
What is more troubling is that Asobo rather assumes most things should be fixed on the user side, puts the CTDs on backlog in their dev snapshots and don’t respond on Zendesk tickets other than the standard response of what hoops you as a user should all go through because it might crash MSFS. (I have a ticket open without any additional response after some follow up quries from my side, I basically can never complete a airliner flight, CTD on approach since last 2-3 patches, before no issues).
All in all, it’s ignoring paying customers that cannot play the game.
UPDATE2: Found the problem on my system was caused by some liveries I had in my Community folder. After removing them, no more crashes with AI traffic on. I had downloaded them from https://flightsim.to/.
UPDATE: Turned off Live Real-World Air Traffic and now the flight loads with no crash. Re-enabled the other things I had turned off and still no crash. So AI is the problem in my case. Now looks good so far with a very short test flight. I’m using version 1.11.6.0.
I used the XBox game pass to first try it a day after the release. It ran great on my PC then. It has an i5-8600K, 16GB RAM, and GTX 1070. I used it for a couple weeks, but gave up due to frustration with buggy airliners. I’m now back and bought the game yesterday through BestBuy since I had a gift card. Wanted to just fly GA. I figured it would run better with all the latest MSFS updates. Wrong. On this same PC it now crashes every time during the loading of the flight. The load bar only gets about half way.
So far I’ve tried the following, but nothing has helped:
Remove all mods
Turn off vsync
Exit all apps and GeForce system tray app first
Change to Medium graphics
Windowed mode
Try different airport
Turn off ATC voices
In my event viewer, it seems the error is the same as others are getting:

Hey Paradise Flight,
Maybe step 20 will allow you to enable Traffic again. Check out the linked thread written down in step 20.
The information is taken out of this video:
so here is my Road to Canossa:
Ryzen 5 3600, MB: 450M, RX 5700 Challenger, 32 GB RAM, new 650 PSU and nowadays M2 where MSFS is installed (I changed/upgraded nearly everything - except the GPU → where I guess the problems are located…)
MSFS worked well in the beginning. (also nice clouds without pixels by the way…) then, first CTD’s and then Reboots appeared.
Now instead of writing what happened I just sum up the last days as I see some kind of progression. In my configuration all the problems are connected with th GPU (therefore I will switch again back to Nvidia - sorry that I cheated on you green N)
Bios Update of GPU, bios update of MB, XMP set (again, as it was deactivated) for RAM, all “cllassic” Windows settings (power, gaming mode, etc.) and then … finding the hotspot of the AMD GPU (why DO I have to do this) → the card comes with factory settings so messed up (Fans only top at 50% ??? why?)
Would worth a whole topic, but will make it short: Card has to run constantly (power!), fans have to run constantly (temp!) and you have to have access to all of it but be aware: CTD, Reboot (Kernel 41 - a lovely one) and a weird downcooling phase where frames totally collapse - if you are lucky the GPU “remembers” again that it has work to do and after 30 Secs or so fans explode again and the game is running - let us say 30 frames or so (2K, high/ultra mixed). So my actual hotspot is around -2-3% of frequency, 100% of Fan and -5% of Power Cap, undervolting @ around 950 mV…
So my achievement is having only 1x CTD yestarday (hurray), log of event manager (drum sound) says “not enough virtual memory” ROFL (32 GB physical and 4 GB virtual) → really, jokes aside a big process as I had some heavy reboots, while just adding content → game had to be reinstalled several times (105 GB several times…)
and NO I was not flying over NY or CDG … Only the bare Alps my friends
So I am spending hours of (calm down … ) tweaking my rig. Not a bad one. Spending money for things that should work… Crazy…
The simulator is a hell of a product, do not get me wrong. But it is not an easy one for me to get it running so it is acceptable…
I really talked to much people and there are many problems with AMD GPUs. BSODs, CTDs and all the fancy stuff are often caused by driver problems of AMD GPUs. I am on the search for a new GPU and considered getting the new RX series, but I will get a 3080TI if they are not just a myth.
stick to that. some things shouldn’t be in hands of users. like reaching normal performance.
Thanks but AI traffic was already off for me. When I tried enabling it it caused a crash even with real world traffic turned off. AI seems very touchy and needs some major code improvement to catch memory access problems.
I only get a CTD when I’m done flying and try to exit back to the main screen. I then have to reload and all is well until I try to quit back to the main screen again. Anybody?
Getting the UIGT.dll error now with crashes to desktop without being told what the error was. I think it has something to do with memory leaks because when I first took off I had high FPS then it slowly just dropped down to under 30s in cruise. Honestly this game is too much work for enjoyment. When this game was out at launch I had everything overclocked and had NO ISSUES and I did group flights with friends. They’ve patched this game and turned it into a crash simulator.
@FacedCell969515 have you got FS Academy it was cause for CTD when going back to main screen for many after US update , they since patched New Ver 12 available, see below
Hi there, as someone linked below, a source of CTD was FS Academy - IFR instrument flight training missions, fixed with v1.2.
Thanks so much for taking the time to post this. It did indeed fix the issue.
Thanks for your help. It did fix the issue.
actually, I did switch my card last days to a 2060 super - same framerates, much lower temps, silent fans, i.e. more capacities to enhance (tweak). no CTD’s (played around 3-4 hours since the switch), no Reboots. sorry AMD, I did try, but I will stay with Nvidia.
At the request of @EpicPrimus this thread will now be closed. It will remain as an archive thread for reference.
