I have the latest version installed as I always check this one after any updates. I have tried all settings in MSFS and there is no difference between TAA and DLSS.
Yes, the quest 3 came with the option to install a Batman game, not my kind of thing but installed onto the headset and visually looks good.
Just want to run something by you guys to see if this could be the issue.
My fibre router is downstairs. My sim pc is upstairs. My pc is connected to the router downstairs via Ethernet cable. My pc motherboard x670e has built in WiFi.
So my question is: is my quest 3 connecting to the WiFi on the pc or to the WiFi on the router downstairs?
Do I need to install another router upstairs next to PC even though my motherboard has built in WiFi?
If I need to do that then I assume the Ethernet cable connected to the downstairs router would need to be plugged into the new router upstairs next to pc. Then pc and headset connects via WiFi to the upstairs router. If so how do I stop the pc and headset picking up the weaker signal from downstairs ?
Which level of DLSS? A TAA cockpit should look better than all of them. DLAA comes close but the others are noticeably different.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong - I think the Quest connects to the router and the hard wiring of the PC to the router allows a much better bitrate (up to 200mbps) but like most videos mention, I cannot see a reason to go above 120 without diminishing returns. If you unplug the Ethernet your max allowable bitrate will vary depending on traffic/signal strength and I’ve seen it as low as 10.
Was Batman blurry? Trying to establish if it’s a setup issue or possibly just not living up to expectations because you’ve been using a 4K monitor.
I’d suggest trying via link cable, unless you can move a dedicated router up to where you use the VR. VR via wifi is supposed to be done on a dedicated router that’s directly connected to the PC and in the same room as the HMD, not a general network router that’s in another room
Think I’ve been a bit of a numpty regards this VR so I need to own up to my mistake with regards blurred text and gauges.
I wear glasses for distance but for reading or anything close I don’t need them.
So I thought as the VR headset is so close to my eyes I thought there’s no need for my glasses. How wrong was I lol.
Stumbled across a YT vid yesterday that said if you wear glasses for distance then you will need them for VR. So I gave it a go and now all is clear in the cockpit.
So now my next purchase maybe prescription lenses inserts.
Thanks all help above really appreciated but I it just didn’t occur to me that my distance glasses would be required for VR. Everyday’s a school day
LOL, happy you got that sorted out. Seems any time a new headset is purchased something needs to get sorted out like that. When I’ve been on Quest headsets, VD for some reason always gave me the best experience.
Most VR specific games will usually look good as they are optimized for VR. MSFS, being a close to life simulation is the hardest case scenario for VR.
I’m struggling a bit now with my Pimax as they tend to have a close focal distance around 1 meter. I’m at the point where I need prescription inserts to help with eye fatigue.
Thin I’ll get some lenses on order as its a bit uncomfortable wearing them with the headset. Not only that I’m worried my frames might scratch the VR lenses.
One thing I must purchase very soon is a replacement head strap & maybe one with a battery pack as the one that comes with the Quest 3 is really uncomfortable after about an hour use tops.
Ones that seem to crop most on a search are likes of BOBOvr & Kiwi amongst many others. Think also a better face gasket too rather than the standard one.
So if anyone can recommend one that would be appreciated.
All sorted now as I went for the KKCOBVR Q3 PRO Battery Head Strap and the KKCOBVR K3 Facial Interface. All very comfortable and compared to the standard strap it’s night and day.
