I bought ESSA (Stockholm Arlanda, Orbix) from the marketplace yesterday because it was on sale. Unfortunately it has a few issues, the most irritating is the trees on the runway. They say that it is recommended to uninstall ESSA from Microsoft so I did that but it doesn’t help. I was taxing to the runway and saw some trees in front of me (last picture), I just run through thinking it would work as it does for all the cars you sometimes see on the runway but the aircraft crashed and the flight ended Since I cannot taxi to the runway I think I have to uninstall it and revert back to Microsoft’s version?

There was an update today of Orbx ESSA, something about latest sim update compability.
So your problem will probably be fixed when the update comes to marketplace.
Here’s the response from the developer:
The tree issue was introduced with the World Update released yesterday. We are working on a patch now.
We don’t get preview access to any updates for MSFS2020 so we discovered this issue yesterday together with the rest of the world!
Hope to have a patch released in the next day or two for Orbx customers and I assume the Marketplace customers might need to wait a bit longer for the Microsoft team to approve it.
Cheers,
Marcus
Also, turn off crash detection in your sim. It doesn’t work properly and only serves to cause problems!
Oh I see, thanks! That was interesting, let’s hope the update comes to the marketplace asap!
Actually, I think the crash detection does work as intended. It happens for example on narrow taxiways when your wingspan is to large and you hit a lamp pole. It adds an extra level of realism to the sim.
Entirely your choice. Just don’t be surprised when a poorly designed/placed crash box or a terrain mesh error ends your flight early.
I have exactly this issue with trees on the airport. Bought it as well from Marketplace and uninstalled Microsoft ESSA as well, before installing the ORBX one via MSFS Marketplace.
Also this airport has an huge impact on FPS, at least as it is right now. It performance worse then KLAX for me. And I am on a 4090 Watercooled GPU combined with 7900X3D CPU. This airport looks incredible detailed and nice, but FPS wise this is the worst airport I have (1 out of 176!)
I do hope they will have a look into this and update it so that at least the trees get out of the places were they should not be
Hum, ok you are probably right! The crash detection works fine but as you say, glitches in the scenery causes issues but also, when a crash has occurred, the flight just ends immediately so you have no chance to see what happened! It would be better if the aircraft just shut down or something but you should stay in the aircraft and be able to find out what has happened.
I’m sure they will! These sales on the marketplace are not good for my wallet, now I just bought ENGM (Oslo) as well I went for the ORBX version instead of JustSim after looking at reviews on Internet. Sorry for this info, it has nothing to do with ESSA but I just want to say that I trust ORBX, I have several airports made by them.
Also have this problem. Just arrived to Arlanda and have the trees all over airport. Raising priority of scenery with package reorder tool didn’t help. Started after recent update.
Then you must not have bought KJFK, yet
You were right, performance at iniBuild’s KJFK was appalling. Since the latest update though, it’s been much better for me.

Hello,
I am part of the ESSA development team. The issue with trees on the apron came with the World Update, a fix has already been sent in to the Marketplace that hopefully goes live soon.
If you have problems with FPS we recommend to go to orbx-airport-essa-stockholm-arlanda\Data and change the traffic.xml to traffic.off or just remove it (that will remove custom traffic which takes quite much in performance).

I got the update today! I’m in the air and have just departed from a snowy Stockholm on my way towards Norway. Great scenery! I’ll adjust my rating at the marketplace as soon as I’m on the ground again, I think I was a bit to harsh there
.
Thanks a lot for adjusting the rating, greatly appreciated
Are you referring to custom static aircraft or custom animated ground vehicles? I’m looking to purchase ESSA and like the idea of animated ground vehicles… but not the idea of static aircraft (unless they’re tucked away in a remote corner of the airfield). Thanks.
