Warning: Your graphics device has encountered a problem

Hi, I threw out my INNO 3D GeForce RTX 3080 iChill Black LHR GDDR6X 320-bit 3xDP + HDMI and replaced it with a 12GB Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 EAGLE OC LHR GDDR6 2xHDMI 2xDP (Retail); since then NO more problems. Greetings…

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

YES

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Are you using DX12?

YES

Are you using DLSS?

YES

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I am using 3080 10GB. Today crashed twice… Now trying to rollback to 531.29 for testing.

Sharing what worked for me in the hope that I can save some of you a full day of troubleshooting!

I had two problems which seemed to appear with the last round of updates.

  1. CTD with the ‘graphics device has encountered a problem’ message early in any flight.
  2. Severe stuttering in all situations

After lots and lots of trying out settings/reinstalling/rolling back drivers, the overall fix for my system seems to have been:

  1. DX11 only with the 531.41 Geforce driver. My computer has never got on as well with DX11 so unfortunately, this involved rolling my settings back a bit too. However it is definitely DX12 causing the crash, not too high settings, as even on low settings, DX12 will cause the crash.

  2. FSUIPC seems to have been the culprit for these awful stutters, having never really caused me any problem before. They were persistent/every second/incredibly annoying. No idea what update made this start, it may be related to the other issue or it may not. Went away immediately when I stopped FSUIPC, I simply uninstalled it and will give the VA a rest for now. Sounds like it is something to do with it polling the simulator.

Hope that helps. My system is i7-12700/RTX 3080/NVMe SSD.

Check out this fix that was discovered last month. Fixes the FSUIPC stutters.

And also reverting bsck to nvidia driver 531.29 with dx12 works for me. Constant ctd with the “gpu error , overheat blah blah” since 531.41. Going back to 531.29 resolved it.

After playing for some time without the problem I decided to easen my vallet again to buy a new plane. The Tecnam for 35 EUR. 20 minutes into the flight this window shows up again and I am banning myself for buying stuff to a broken sim…

In my case the game does not stutter or anything. The crash comes from out of nowhere. One day I can´t take-of from a remote island with no live traffic and no photogeometry without crashing in like 2 minutes.

Another day I can fly around downtown London without crashing.

This must be serverdriven somehow…Something that is NOT due to faulty graphics cards.

However, this bug is tearing down my enthusiasm for the game. Bit by bit.

Which workarounds did you try so far?
We can try to help but let’s start from what you already did to avoid listing a lot of things.

Me too. Nvidia 3080Ti, Reverb G2, DX12 with DLSS and latest driver consistently gave me the ‘Your graphics device…’ error after about 20 mins of use. Tried lots of things and the driver rollback was the winner.

This seems to happen a lot and none of the posted solutions are working for me. I run a nVidia Geforce RTX 3070 Ti on a gaming PC with 32 GB of PC RAM and 16GB of Video Card RAM and I have settings set even below those automatically set by the video card. I did read where dropping down to DX11 instead of the DX12 beta helps, but I still have issues.

Can anyone answer if the latest drop, (531.58) fixed the problem?

Not for me. The only solution was 531.29. Download and choose custom install, and click the clean installation box. Reboot after its done.

Hi,
Done 2 things.

  1. Lowered my GPU memoryclock by 200 MHz.
  2. Set a 60 fps cap in Nividia control panel.

I am really not planning to do anthing else but wait for the fix. I regret I bought another payware for 35 EUR before they get this thing fixed.

Can´t be that all those people all of a sudden get faulty graphics-card after new updates. Also seems to be in rising numbers.

Hi,
Right now 13:15-13:30 UTC time the game crashes on me constantly.
I am playing the Northern Europe server.

Same for anyone else?

Lower the GPU memory clock an extra 100Mhz and also the GPU clock by 100-200Mhz, try again, if it doesn’t work please post a screenshot of Afterburner.
Hope you fix it!

nope… may be because we are on 513.29 or have DX12(beta) disabled

Guys, I swear I have never seen anything like this before lul
Every time I enter the sim, I get this right away, it doesn’t even give me time to set up the plane
It’s officially driving me nut …

had the same issue with RTX 3080. Removed all overclocks and reversed to 531.29. Did couple of 1-2 hours flights without any issues

Same thing happened to me… until I reverted to 531.29.
