I have tried every setting in Xbox, my TV (Samsung TU7000 HD, UHD, HDR etc), and I cannot get that washed out look in the distance out, and it looks like the air is full of humidity or hazy all the time. Im running in 1440 only, and Bing mapping is turned off.
Yes, its always that way regardless of what I do with graphic settings with my TV or Xbox X console. (I decided to dig it out again). I don’t have any WU’s installed, no 3rd party stuff, just a few aircraft and Heli’s. It’s done all the updates that were released since I last used it. I don’t know what to make of it. On the ground, everything is clear and colorful as it should be, but once I’m airborne flying (A320 airbus) or any aircraft @ high altitude, its got this fogginess, washed out look to it even off in the distance especially.
Yes even with clear skies, but I don’t use live weather etc. I set my own clouds, wind, etc and the washed out look is still there. It’s really taking away from the immersion and the “want” to use it again. It’s pretty disappointing after all this time not using it.
Game mode on my TV makes MSFS stutter on the TV, the TV has no game mode settings, it’s either on or off, that’s it. I’ve tried the TV’s picture settings in every possible combination to no avail. Nothing works, it just doesn’t go away. I’m so annoyed with it. Might pack up the box again and move away from it permanently. Hard to believe, it hasn’t progressed or been optimized on Xbox so we don’t have to put up with the constant annoyances. No wonder my gramps moved away from it and went over to Aerofly FS4. He’s having a blast with it. Loves it he says.
No prob. It says there is options though. Have you found “Turn on Input Signal Plus”
Your Samsung Smart TV already has great picture quality, but Input Signal Plus will make it even better. This setting expands the input signal range for HDMI connections. Graphics will appear clearer as a result, so it will feel like you’re truly inside the game.
1 Press the Settings/123/Colors button on the TV remote.
2 From Quick settings, navigate to and select All Settings.
3 Select Connection, and then select External Device Manager.
4 Select Input Signal Plus.
5 Select the HDMI port that your game console is connected to.
Note: If HDMI Input Signal Plus is turned on, you can enable HDMI 2.1 features on your connected device. Game Mode will automatically enable HDMI Input Signal Plus on game consoles.
EDIT: Ah maybe it is automatic.
Anyway did you say what Graphic Settings you have in MSFS or does Xbox not have the same as PC for options there?
Are you in Canada? Maybe give them a call tomorrow! What have you got to lose?
Ya Xbox doesn’t have graphic settings. HDR on or off only. I tried what you suggested but it didn’t make any difference. Game mode on or off still the same and with game mode on it causes stuttering. Can’t win either way here. I might be making the switch soon too, to FS4 if this keeps up. It’s really disappointing to say the least. Once again after no time use last few months, I’m not happy just like I was in the beginning when I got this Xbox from my gramps and took the plunge. He warned me and I didn’t listen then and I was fool to try again. Something else this MSFS and its issues still. sigh
I’m on Xbox so there is no bloom etc. So I did a calibration and called Samsung (they weren’t any help), just updated the firmware. It is what it is and its better than it was but I find its altitude and geographic dependent. When I fly in Ontario or Canada for some “odd” reason, its not so bad. Don’t know what to make of it. It works, and that’s all we can hope for. I’ll just have to work with it as it is and just fly. I’m good from here.
