Water in G2 VR

I have reflections and water waves on high and the water is looking very flat with airbrushed clouds (sometimes stepped) reflected in the water. It seems worse than it used to be. Any ideas on how to improve this? Thanks!

I’m not sure if this will help because I haven’t tried it but I don’t recall seeing any other water mods for MSFS.

Given the complexity of clouds in this sim there are definately some concessions when it comes to reflections in water. I’ve seeen the blocky effects of clouds as well, although sometimes it looks ok. Maybe we need to wait for DX12U which could lead eventually to a ray tracing implementation - that would be pretty cool but I doubt that would be super high fidelity either but it will be more accurate…

Can’t say I’ve messed about with waves much, that means setting high wind levels, it’s gusting here in the UK at the moment but ideally I like conditions to be a bit calmer.

I’ll check it out. I think it is the texture, too. Maybe once they get the overexposed lighter colors under control in vr that will help. In HDR the monitor is very sensitive to overexposure with the brightness control, so maybe it’s similar to that.

I think it looks better for sure, thanks for the info. I found out it was a presets add on that was causing the water problem, but only in vr.
