i saw on Youtube a video about a XBOX flight sim 2020 where it had dust kicking up on landing wheels when landing on dirt road and also water spray when landing on floats in water.. when or where can i get this for my game. i ordered my flightsim from microsoft xbox last year
You can’t get it. Yet.
What you saw is a preview of upcoming features and visual effects that will be available in the Xbox and DX12 versions of MSFS come July 27. It’s not available in the current build of the sim.

any idea if this update will enable dirt/gravel runways to replicate real strips?
No idea. All we know is what’s in those videos.

that’s the consensus - we’re all looking forward to whatever - lol and the sooner the better
As said above, it’s coming to the sim. However, I am not aware of anything that says it will be available on day 1 of the Xbox launch. (Nothing that says it won’t be, either.)
There have been cases where we have seen previews of things that didn’t come to the sim for many months. (I’m specifically thinking of water masks.)
I’m not saying this to dampen anyone’s spirits, but rather to ensure that people don’t get too excited and then disappointed if it doesn’t happen next month.

There is also something to be said with how Jorg talked about that Husky - that when it comes in August it will be big for the sim in more ways than just one. It MAY be that they will time the Husky’s release with the effects. But that’s all supposition.

Indeed that’s the case. We may see it on the 27th, or we may not. Wouldn’t be the first time that the product didn’t match the promo material. Although I’d be willing to bet they’re going to make every effort to make this happen for the Xbox release. That demographic is nowhere near as forgiving when what they buy doesn’t match what was advertised.

Let’s put it this way… I REALLY like the way Asobo is doing it now. Icing wasn’t done right on release. THAT got handled eventually… Effects? I’d rather get them to work the way they want before it comes out rather than deal with what Lockheed Martin’s bane of existence Enhanced Atmospherics has become - THAT was rolled out to the sim in November of 2020. They are STILL dealing with it not working the way it should.
