We need some 172 liveries

Especially with that awesome steam gauge variant.

Agreed but I’m no painter.

Have you checked flightsim.to? They appear to have tons of 172 liveries.

Low effort post on my part, apologies for that. Marketplace liveries are what I’m after. Xbox here. Marketplace is a ghost town for any GA liveries outside of the 182 - kinda feels like a big miss! I want to slap a weathered, nasty, late 60s paintjob on my old Cessna.

Ahh okay, sorry! That makes sense. Agree, that’s too bad that there’s not much out there.

There is a 172 livery pack in the Marketplace.

Not the weathered, nasty, late '60s paintjob you’re looking for, but some variety at least.

Nice price at $.42 ea.!

Thanks - did see those, but saw noted in the description that it’s for the G1000 variant. I didn’t want to make a five dollar assumption that they would also work on the steam gauge (since that shows up as a different aircraft inside of my hangar rather than a livery) - can anyone confirm these also work on the steam gauge 172?

Not entirely. I knew up front what you meant. I’ve asked that our platform association be shown in our header. I think it’s so important to know this for context in discussions. The moderators have said they’re looking into it. It’s not a feature of the forum software, but they said they’d look into what it would take to add it.

Maybe the main reason why there are not a lot (or any) c172 Liveries on the MS-Marketplace, is that one cannot (yet) publish FREEWARE there.

Most liveries are made by the Community and Freeware developers… most of which cannot get recognized as Marketplace Developers, and even if they did, can only sell Payware on the Marketplace, and thus pay their 30% (?) Share of sales to Microsoft.

Currently there is no FREE ride for Freeware on the marketplace.

One possible solution would be if an existing marketplace developer put together a set of existing Freeware c172 Liveries (with consent from each Livery developer), and then got them, as a set put up on the Marketplace, with a minimal payware cost.

Would take a lot of co-ordination by the Marketplace developer, so it is doubtful that it would make economic sense, especially if they were expected to share the money from any sales with each of the Freeware livery developers.

I don’t think he’s asking for freeware. There’s plenty of livery packs for sale, he’s just asking for some C-172 ones to be put up for sale.

The problem for us freeware authors is, the process of applying to be able to sell products on the Marketplace is quite arduous, and not really worth our time as we’re just doing this stuff for fun and sharing our work.

Exactly, and for X-box users it’s seven more of an issue, as most Liveries are made by Freeware developers.

Hence my suggestion of an inexpensive Marketplace SET of liveries, to spread the marketplace cost over a number of liveries.

You got it, yeah. I got cash in hand, I’m ready to wave five bucks at a 6 pack of vintage Cessna liveries for the “most sold plane in the world” as MSFS loves to remind me.
