Weather depiction switching between two different systems?

Whilst I don’t want to create another thread that divides votes further I think it’s important to highlight this separately from the others which are associated particularly with METAR transitions etc.

This morning when I tested EIDW I observed very accurate and reasonable weather. Cloud coverage and types looked very reasonable and there was no over-done towering or convective clouds. Here are a couple of screenshots I took:

Around half an hour later another user tried this airport and the weather depiction had completely changed. The METAR was only half an hour later and still reported the same conditions but as you can see, the weather has now changed to this unrealistic depiction with many convective towering clouds and even clouds at ground level. Here are the pictures he sent me:

Another user reported at around this same time the change happened during his flight the winds shifted dramatically.

Something wrong is going on here. Maybe data is being corrupted or maybe it’s missing data like I reported to @OlieTsubasa443 last year.

I think it would be really good if we could escalate this to the Devs in case they are not aware of it happening? Just think if a lot of the issues could be largely down to a data issue like we had last year?

It would also explain why some users don’t seem to see any issues with the weather whilst others see a lot.

I really hope we can get this some attention and get it fixed soon.

Many thanks.

  • Just to clarify for anyone not aware. Last year there was an issue were weather data from 20:00z-0800z was missing. When the sim hit 20:00z it was loading in the weather for 08:00z the following day meaning a whole 12 hours of data was missing.
