With the recent event of hurricane Ida, a weather highlights feature for MSFS comes to mind. In my opinion, this should support weather highlights such as:
- Hurricanes
- Storms
- Flooding
- Volcano eruptions
- Monsoon rain
Especially hurricanes and tornadoes need precise modeling - flying into one of those at the moment just results in a strong wind, but no visible model of the typical appearance of such a weather event.
Hurricanes can be located by AI and therefore automatically modeled in MSFS - Devs, please think about it!
Hi,
Could you clarify what you mean by “weather highlights”?
Do you mean on the world map with something like a POI marker?
Or are you thinking more like an AIRMETs/SIGMETs feature on the world map that tells pilots where there is significant weather, like this?
Or something else?
Hey!
What I meant by this, is the actual implementation of visual effects for these severe weather events. Right now, a hurricane is reconstructed in msfs by the thunder storm weather preset in a way - good, but not a real hurricane. Same goes for monsoon rain. I’d just like to see real specialized representations of these weather events in the sim.
Thanks! I will send you a DM later.
