Weather radar - can you tell if it is scanning

Can you tell if the MSFS weather radar is actualy scanning if there is not precipitation ?

If there is no precipitation, the screen remains blank, and you do not know if

  • It is not working
  • There is no Precipitation

As it scans, the RW unit draws a faint white line at the scan front, so you can see that it is scanning,
(like very thin windscreen wiper blade)

Currently, the only way to make sure it is working, is to set a rain profile – but thats NOT real weather, so a Total IMMERSION Killer !!

If you’re asking about in the Beta, you might want to ask over there. In the last official release radar was not updating in real time. You had to change range or make some other change to get it to update.
But when radar was updating correctly in previous releases, there wasn’t a visible scan line. You could see where the radar was updating by watching the scan update the screen as it went back and forth, but even then there wasn’t a visible scan line like you’re describing.
At least on the PC version of the beta, the radar is back to updating as it should, but there’s no line.
Regards

Yes, its really not about the Beta … we assume it will scan again, going forward after SU8 beta and SU8 release.

The Su8 beta area is not the place to confuse things, its meant to be about testing what has been fixed, not adding additional features…

I was trying to discuss the lack of the scan line, and see what teh community thought about it.

Its a very Minor thing … but maybe a way to make it obvious it is scanning, already exists.
