ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

The weather UI does not make sense and seems to be bugged for the current time set.

Take for example here at Geneva, UTC time of 1400UTC, local time 1500, yet on the ‘24h history’ time strip, it says it’s 6pm? This is incorrect and it seems something doesn’t correspond correctly here. It’s like there are 3 different times all going on at once, 1400UTC, 1500 local and then 6pm?

I believe this is contributing to the weather also being bugged as it seems to be messing up injection data once it ticks past the 6pm stage on the time scale.

1400UTC/6PM LSGG - reporting OVC cloud which is injecting correctly:

Once it goes past this ‘6pm’ time on the scale, the cloud starts getting removed

15:00UTC / 7pm - should still be OVC but clouds start getting removed:

15:53UTC/7:53pm - should still be OVC but now nearly all clouds removed.

Provide specific location or coordinates: This example was LSGG/Geneva airport

Provide time and date of the observed weather issue: 16:00 UTC is when cloud data was incorrectly removed.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Every time

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load up at Geneva airport, set time to 14:00 UTC, 1500 local and observe time on weather window time strip says it is 6pm
  2. Move time on to 1600UTC and observe weather is incorrectly removed.

• Yes! I reported the same thing (see link below) but didn’t know it was already reported!

I also have this issue. Noticed it right at launch (well, after I could finally get in, 2 days later).

I took a bunch of screenshots but as it was one of many issues I found, I never took the time to report it - I decided my time was better spent elsewhere, since so many minor issues like this don’t get fixed for some years, if ever, and so it feels like a wasted effort to open Zendesk reports.

It could be that something went wrong during the initial download during those first few days when the servers were struggling. I had all kinds of weird things due to packages not loading correctly. Only way they were resolved was by using the ‘Reset’ option in the App Settings (MS Store version), but didn’t work for this issue.

I am running at 2560x1440 but window size and resolution appears to make no difference.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

On the World Map, the background scale for setting the time of the flight bears no resemblance to the actual time that the marker is set to.

Here the time is 16:03 but the market is pointing at what looks to be 18:00. The full length of the slider represents 24 hours. The labels don’t match the markings, but I don’t believe that only the labels are misplaced because there are not 24 major tick marks in the scale either.

My resolution is 2560x1440, but the issue remains no matter what size I make the MSFS window.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Has been present since launch day, no mods are affecting the issue.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Always. I have seen other users post about it too, but so far I could not see a bug report for it.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Open Free Flight
  2. Check or change the time of the flight, by dragging the marker left or right.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant:

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?

No.

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?

RTX 3080

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

Don’t believe anything is relevant.

I have tried using ‘Reset’ in the Windows App Settings to clear my data for a fresh start. I have delete some UI-related package folders from my base game folder, then repaired the entire sim via the Xbox App. Problem persists.

Thanks @DementedCorn327 for merging my new thread with this one. Funny that I was the last person to post in this thread before the merge…

I had searched with several phrases to try to find an existing post, but found nothing that matched! But I was searching in the UI sub-forum, not the weather sub-forum, so no wonder…

Seems to be fixed in SU2 even if not mentioned in the Release notes.
