Web planner need to be improved for VFR

Hello, the new web planner is awesome but it miss some options that should be really usefull :

  • Add Sattelite layer option view on VFR map
  • Add option to hide/unhide our plane icon on map (personnaly I don’t want to use the planner as a plane tracker !)
  • Add all VAC charts for France (they are free and not available in the web planner !) or at least, enability to add our PDF into the app
  • Add ability to rename our custom waypoints
  • Add ability to draw radials to our flight plans with VOR, NDB and such
  • Add elevation map graph regarding created flight plan

Of course all these wishes need also to be added on in-game EFB)

The VAC charts are normally not free to use in planning software.
But I have been working on something for the EFB

In the EFB you can see multiplayer aircraft, but if you click on them, the aircraft in question does not display ID information, multiplayer name, distance, altitude, or speed. The aircraft trim/balance compared to the 2020 version is not very detailed: you can adjust it forward or backward, but not left or right. There are also difficulties with some aircraft in sending data from the EFB to the aircraft avionics/MFD.

Yes, that’s true: there are difficulties with VFR planning. The classic visual flight patterns are missing, the standard traffic circuit is missing both to the left and to the right of the runway, and the procedure is also missing. This is the list.
Classic traffic circuit — Training and orderly traffic
Straight-out departure — Straight departure after takeoff
Crosswind departure — Lateral departure
Downwind departure — Departure from the downwind leg
45° departure — Orderly departure from the traffic circuit
45° downwind join — Clean entry into the downwind leg
Straight-in approach — Direct final approach
Base join — Direct entry into the base leg
Overhead join — Observe the airfield and traffic before joining
Teardrop — Teardrop repositioning
Right-hand circuit — When locally required
Tight/wide circuit — Depending on aircraft type, traffic, and procedure
Go-around pattern — Go-around and re-entry into the traffic circuit

In France VAC Charts are free top use. They should be integrated in the EFB.

ALSO in ITALY we have VAC charts e wa have also (ULM) LSA airspace and corridor in the map

We don’t plan to add a satellite layer to the web planner at this time. I believe the sim EFB planner app does have such a layer, though.

I’m not sure I know what you mean here; the web planner doesn’t have an airplane icon.

These charts are only free for users and pilots to download and view directly; they are not free for commercial entities to redistribute.

We don’t currently have plans to do this, but it’s something we can consider.

This is already possible; you can make point/bearing/distance waypoints in your flightplan today.

Right now we don’t have good programmatic access in a performant way to elevation data across a flight path. But if it becomes possible technically then it’s something we can consider.
