I don’t hear a lot of ATC calls to other aircraft - in fact I heard it for the first time last week! That’s 8 moths of flying before getting to hear ATC calling other aircraft.
The weird thing is - it was due entirely to add-on scenery. I have flown a few times in my local area of the UK (The Wash) and the only calls I’ve heard have been to me - same wherever else I’ve flown, too.
I installed a payware farmstrips package and suddenly the traffic was non-stop. That’s radio traffic not AI traffic btw, it felt like the skies were alive.
I even heard a call to another aircraft to look out for my aircraft - they called out my BN-2 Islander correctly, as well.
Then I removed the add-on airfields for testing purposes and the ATC completely disappeared with it.
Strange!
