I added a video where you can see weird tearing when rotating the camera, its really visible at the rim of the windscreen.
I tried Vsync on and off, and also tried Fast in the Nvidia Settings. Any idea what that could be?
i7 10700k, RTX 4070 MSI Ventus 2x OC, Win 11 64, 32 GB RAM, Watercooling, Bequiet Case 600dx
Running everything on Ultra, DLSS on, Dlss Frame Generation on , 1440p, DX12(Beta)
I have seen that behaviour sometimes with different game versions. Full screen mode appears to fail to be detected from time to time and V-sync or G-sync fail to activate therefore. Normally going to windowed pressing ALT-Enter and back to full screen pressing ALT-Enter again solves the issue.
I do not see any tearing. However, if you are talking about the little “hitch” when panning across the aircraft windshield pillar. That is a normal behavior due to frame generation and its not a problem.
I don’t know if this will be any help, but I had tearing too and turns out I had a really ■■■■■■cable connected from my PC to my monitor. Once I bought a cable capable of higher refresh rates, the tearing was gone.
Another issue i have is, if im flying above bigger cities say new york city for example. It starts stuttering after while and the fps drop greatly, any idea if that could be connected to the tearing issue?
Ok so I looked again, and in the videos it is not that visible. But when im turning the heard, theres a lot of tearing at the side of the windshield. Looks a bit like a mosaic.
As I said that is a by product of frame generation at the side of the windshield and the rate at which you are panning your view. Also as stated above Vsync only works in DX12 when forced via the NVIDIA CP. FG interpolates (guesses) the in between frame. It is normal to see the anomaly especially if panning your view quickly. Big cities causing stuttering and FPS dropping is indicating your system can not keep up with your graphics settings. Are you running anything else in the background? i.e. FSLTL? What are your in game traffic settings set to or FSLTL settings set to? There are a lot of things at play that can affect you.
nothing running in the background besides an antivirus program.
Traffic settings:
Aircraft Traffic Type: Off
Show Traffic Nameplates: on
Airport LIife: All on 50
Land and Sea Traffic: All on 50 and Fauna Density 100
Ai and Multiplayer Traffic Detail:
All on Off, Show Multiplayer Aircraft in Close Proximity: On
Traffic Variety: Medium
And i just noticed, that the tearing is not visible in the video, but when I’m playing the game its very visible. So has it to do something with the GPU?
If you really have tearing which is not in your video, It is because you have Vsync enabled and you are not maintaining frame rate or Vsync is disabled. To use Vsync in DX12 you need to set to full screen mode in MSFS. You must set Vysnc to on in the Nvidia CP prior to starting MSFS and set a frame limit. Set the frame limit to what you can maintain and it needs to be an multiple of your monitor refresh rate. Frame Generation will also cause some anomalies as I have stated before.
I asked about other running programs because they can have a huge effect around large cities.
