Went from a 4080 to a 4090….results

care to share your dials ? I have same setup as you but am on windows 10 Pro so don`t know if windows 11 makes a difference nowadays. Bought the Gigabyte 4080 today but still am not overjoyed compared to my old evga 3080 FTW3 that I had till yesterday :slight_smile: My cpu (12700K) is OC to 5Ghz.

I have the 5800x3d and just got my 4080. I thought the performance increase was terrible over my 3080 12gb oc. The flight sim 2020 fps counter didn’t go up significantly over the 3080. However when in VR I used the nvidia fps counter and that’s when I noticed the flight sim 2020 wasn’t seeing my proper fps with dlss enabled. With all ultra settings and dlss quality I get 75 fps average in NYC cessna discovery flight. With dlss dlaa setting enabled I get approximately 45 to 50. Depending on altitude. In built sim doesn’t seem to count fps correctly when using dlss in vr. Also I am using the reverb g2.

Have a look at the video in my link (Minute 3:45). The intern MSFS FPS counter does not show the FPS increase you create with DLSS3…you have to use another tool, e.g. MSI Afterburner to view the real FPS gain.

Thank you. I thought that was only for outside of vr. I didn’t realize frame generation was also going to improve vr performance but it does appear to. I turned it off on the pc setting and my vr performance also dropped.

Intel i7 12700K (P core to 51+ E cores to 40) HT on, Gigabyte 4080 OC edition, 32 GB, NVME etc
Resizable Bar - On
HAGS - ON
Game - ON
NCP - Antisco filter 16x(off in sim), low latency - Ultra, power - max perf, texture filter negative - clamp, text filtering - Quality, pre-render - 1
Openxr 100, MR - Off
Openxrtoolkit, CAS 50, resolution override = 4200x4100, Turbo - on
MSFS - DX12 to get the Ultra +Boost feature, DLSS Balanced, LOD 100 for both, since I am CPU bound. Most main sim settings on Ultra, including clouds, terrain precache, vector data, Texture resolution, texture synthesis, Others high - medium. high.
