A1R Ryan ST-A Special - 8.5/10
Gorgeous. Beautiful. Stunning. Did I say it was good looking? Also flies well if difficult to handle on the ground. Sound is a bit on the soft side but I’ll take it.
Asobo Top Rudder 103 Solo - 8/10
It’s a joy to use when you have time and as simple as it gets for an aircraft. Amazing views to be enjoyed from up there, and I adore how it just gets slapped about by strong winds.
ATSimulations Colomban Cri-Cri - 6/10; not updated for SU5
A quirky little thing that’s very fun to fly with head tracking or VR. Unfortunately seems to be sort of abandoned now unless I’m mistaken. Jet version doesn’t handle well at all short of max or near max power.
Carenado Mooney M20R Ovation - 8.5/10; yet to be updated for SU5
It would be a 9.5/10 if the update had arrived on time. It’s fast. It’s beautiful. It’s not too expensive. My favorite GA plane in the sim right now - although I don’t own the JF Piper.
DC Designs F-14 - 8/10
Brilliant fun and proves that supersonic flight does kinda work to an extent in MSFS as of now. Visually could use an improvement though - lots of boxy angles in the cockpit and the afterburner is rather meh.
IndiaFoxtEcho Rutan Long-EZ - 8.5/10
I love this. It’s small, and it looks different. Reasonably fast, lasts a long time. It’s still getting consistent updates too.
Lionheart Creations Quickie Q-200 - 7.5/10
Kinda like a companion or side dish to the Long-EZ. The vast plexiglass window is something else, although the way it flies doesn’t lend it as much character as you’d expect from the quirky looks.
OrbX Edgley Optica - 5/10
It’s… fine. It doesn’t blow itself up by going insanely overspeed like the freeware version, but otherwise I can’t see anything else that makes the paid version worth it. It’s also sort of stuck in between since I feel the Asobo 103 Solo is better at most of the things I fly it for.
Wing42 Bleriot XI - I don’t know / 10; not updated for SU5
It’s certainly different and I think it’s a must-have for my own collection. The problem is it’s mainly a novelty item and I just don’t fly it that much. The reply right above mine says it works fine now, but do note that it has NOT been updated for SU5.
I had very brief hands-on time with the SubSonex JSX-2 and found it fun, but I wouldn’t rate it until I get to buy it myself and fly over a more extended period.
Lastly, I am definitely getting the FlyingIron P-38L!
