What a Wonderful World Tour

From Santo Antonio de Ica (SWSA) to Manaus (SBMN)

In Brazil, until the meeting with the Rio Negro at Manus, it is called Solimois. This river section is characterized by the presence of numerous tributaries, lakes and flood zones on both sides of the riverbank, the channels in the middle of the jungle are passable by canoe and are known as Igarape. The Lago do Espiritu Santo in the vicinity of Cori stands out for its size. Where we rehearsed an aquatic touch and go.

It is common for the clouds that form throughout the day to dump rain next to our route. As we approach Manaus the sunset advances and gives us an unforgettable spectacle of color.

We arrived in Manaus and land after crossing the bridge over the Negro River that will be the next day’s route.

Manaus, the capital Amazonas, stands as one of the most emblematic cities in the Amazon region and its history is marked by the rubber boom. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the city experienced an unprecedented boom thanks to the exploitation of the rubber tree, the Hevea brasiliensis. Manaus became a commercial and cultural epicenter, attracting businessmen, immigrants and artists from all over the world, this period of splendor ended abruptly when the British brought rubber seeds to their colonies in Asia, initiating mass production outside the Amazon and causing the collapse of the local market.

From Manaus (SBMN) to Boa Vista (SBBV)

We take off from Manaus next to the Negro River before its confluence with the Amazon. At the confluence the phenomenon of the “meeting of the waters” occurs in which due to the difference in density and color of the waters of the two rivers, during a long journey the waters do not mix and run in parallel, some black and others brown.

In MSFS2024 the phenomenon is not well represented, at least in my series X.

Ascending the river a few kilometers away Manaus we find the islands of the Anavilhanas National Park, the black -colored river runs between islets that are home to a great diversity of fauna and flora.

We meander from one bank to the other and ascend and descend between the convection clouds enjoying the river below. we reach the meeting of the Negro River and the Blanco River, its main tributary, which runs north-south from the border with Venezuela. We follow the river over the land reserved for until we land at Boa Vista capital of Roraima state and meeting again some hills after miles of flat land.

I am dedicating some time learning how to video record the flights for enhancing the tour, and how to combining video and screenshots.Any advice, comments on effort is welcome.

From Boa Vista (SBBV) to Luepa( SVPP)

We leave the plain of Boa Vista heading north to ascend through the lands of the “Serra do Sol” reserved for various indigenous communities until we reach the Monte Roraima National Park, located on the triple border of Brazil, Venezuela and Guyana.

From this summit less mountain (tablet mountain) located at 9,200 feet, you can overlook the surrounding jungle and a landscape that has served as inspiration and reference for what a lost world can be.

The local name for these structures is “Tepui”. These rock formations, composed mostly of sandstone, are considered some of the oldest geological structures of the planet, with ages exceeding 2,000 million years.

Nothing more to say but to enjoying the silence and beauty of a unique landscape. We move away to land in Luepa one of few airports available in the area. Not familiar yet with the Corvalis after touchdown slipped out of runway

From Luepa (SVPP) to Conaima (SVCN)

We head southwest until we meet the Caroni River, one of the main rivers in Venezuela and the second largest in the country. It rises in the Sierra de Pacaraima, near Mount Roraima, and travels approximately 952 kilometers until it flows into the Orinoco River.

On the route we enter the territory of the Canaima National Park included in the World Heritage Site list since 1994. Canaima National Park - UNESCO World Heritage Centre

The park is a succession of “tepui” that brings together a spectacular landscape with biological and geological values. The passage deserves visits at various times of the day to appreciate its beauty in its maximum splendor.

When we reach the river, we turn north to go around the Ayuan Tepui before landing in Canaima, the base for all expeditions to the park.

From Canaima (SVCN) to El Dorado (SKBO)

We leave behind the tepui plateaus and soon the vast Orinoco River comes into view, winding through the endless green expanse. The landscape shifts from dramatic table mountains to a sprawling mosaic of waterways and dense jungle.

The Orinoco River is one of the great rivers of South America and constitutes one of the main waterways of Venezuela and Colombia. With an approximate length of 2,140 kilometers, it rises in Cerro Delgado Chalbaud, in the Sierra Parima, near the border with Brazil. Its course runs through vast regions of jungle, plains and delta, until it finally flows into the Atlantic Ocean.

At the height of Puerto Ayachcho we are heading west towards Bogotá, located in a wide valley surrounded by mountains.

From El Dorado (SKBO) to Panama City (MPTO)

We scheduled an overnight flight to enjoy the Twin Otter, enjoy the sunrise over the jungles of Colombia and arriving in Panama.

After taking off, we find the moonlit snow-capped peaks of the Nevado del Ruiz Volcano, located in the last foothills of the Andes, it is one of the most emblematic volcanoes in Colombia, both for its beauty and for the tragedies caused by the flows of volcanic mud, ice and melted snow that descend rapidly down the slope.

We then continue flying over the course of the Cauca River with its slopes covered with jungle. Over the clouds we see the sun rise and accompanied by the murmur of the engine we enjoy the display of sunrise color.

At the height of Medellín we head west to reach the Atlantic Ocean and the Atlantic coast of Panama, we cross the country to land near Panama City covered by the morning mist.

You can follow the complete flight leg below. Hope you enjoy

After arriving to Panama and the pleasent experience with the Twin Otter I spoke with a friend for touch and go on the water with the seplane versión. Wonderful.

From Panama City (MPTO) to Enrique Malek (MPDA)

We are heading north in search of the gateway to the infrastructure with the greatest impact on humanity Panama Canal. On the way we will fly over Lake Alajuela and Lake Gatun, both lakes are fundamental for the operation of the Canal that connects the two oceans of the world

Artificially created in the early 20th century during the construction of the canal, this immense lake serves as a fundamental water reserve, allowing ships to cross the different levels of the locks. Beyond its engineering importance, Gatun Lake offers a unique landscape and on its shores are home to several natural rainforest parks.

We turn south to try to visit Altos de Campaña National Park, bad weather prevents us from descending to see the terrain but as compensation it offers us the spectacle of a dry tropical storm, with abundant thunder and lightning.

We turn east through the center of the country crossing parallel the Santa Fe Natural Park, a treasure of tropical jungle from where we contemplate the advance of the sunset in the Pacific where the main rivers of the country flow, we admire from a distance the wildlife refuge of Boca Vieja beach and Tora Island.

We landed at the Enrique Malek airport in a dry storm from which we caught the flash of lightning crossing the head of the runway.

From Enrique Malek (MPDA) to La Paloma (MNLP)

We leave Enrique Malez heading north, following the course of the Chiriqui Nuevo and Brazo de Gómez rivers until we meet the Barú Volcano, reaching 3,475 meters above sea level. From its summit, on clear days, it is possible to contemplate both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, the national park that surrounds it protects an impressive biodiversity, including endemic species of flora and fauna.

After flying over the volcano, we cross the country heading northwest crossing the World Heritage area Talamanca Range-La Amistad Reserves / La Amistad National Park - UNESCO World Heritage Centre .

Follow for a while the Caribbean coast close to Park border in the middle of a dense layer of clouds that offer us amazing landscapes.

We leave the coast to cross La Amistad National Park again on the side managed by Costa Rica. We arrive at San José which extends at the foot of the Irazú, Barba and Poas Volcanoes. The passage with the remains of the storm splashed offers us a spectacle to contemplate.

We conclude our journey by entering Lake Nicaragua, also known as Cocibolca, which was once considered a possible interoceanic route before the construction of the Panama Canal.

It is home to more than 400 islands, including the famous Ometepe Island, formed by two volcanoes; Concepción and Maderas. The Concepción, located to the north of the island, is an active cone-shaped volcano that rises to 1,610 meters above sea level and to the south of Ometepe is the Maderas volcano, 1,394 meters high, covered with dense jungle and with a crater inside which a lagoon has formed.

We practice several touches and go’s surrounded by an imposing landscape until the next day

From La Paloma (MNLP) to Ilopango Intl (MSSS)

We will visit at this leg, some of volcanoes of the Central American Volcanic Arc, which extends along the Pacific coast of Central America and has been formed when the Coco plate enters below the Caribbean place.

We flew the Jaguar, a fighter that I love to fly but that due to its stylized silhouette is very difficult for me to photograph.

On the shores of Lake Xolotlán, the second largest in Central America, stands the Momotombo volcano whose last eruption occurred in 2015. Its eruptions are explosive and have caused damage over the years. Close to Momotombo we find the Pilas & Hoyo volcanic complex in which the youngest and most active volcano in Nicaragua is located called Cerro Negro, although it was formed in 1850.

Dear all

I am quite a bit surprise. Today when I was uploading the pictures of my regular post of my personal world tour, I receive the message the upload is too big and suggest paste the link to a share drive service instead. the upload is not different to the pictures I have share up to now. Is this going to be the rule from now on?. Is there a minimum size for uploading the pictures instead of posting the link to my drive?.

I did it using my personal onedrive account and paste the link to the pictures in my personal onedrive folder. What the viewers suppose to do now, click the link to view the pictures?

Apologies if this has been posted in other place and I was not aware. Appreciate the link if this is the case.

Best regards

From Qaanaaq (BGQQ) to Aqureyri (BIAR)

We took off from Qaanaaq on the polar night thanks to the power of the A400 to cross Greenland and end the polar stages of this world tour. We flew parallel to the Olrik Fjord enjoying the glaciars reaching the sea.

We cross the monotony of a landscape of two blues along the center of the island, only broken by the sunrise that only manages to color a band on the horizon.

Left along the south-east coast of the island, again snow-capped mountains except for the summit and rivers of snow and ice that slowly slide down to the sea. We cross the Denmark Strait to reach Iceland by entering the Eyja Fjord and landing at Akureyri Airport.

Dear friends, it has taken some time to find a way to record worldtour legs in video format and also to be able to attend this forum that has helped me so much to complete the project. Here I am again sharing the beauty of the world.

From Eclipse Sound to Pituffik

Left Eclipse sound heading North crossing Bylot island over the Artic range, mountains and glaciars ending the sea under the blue-gray land and sky. No cities, no roads no human remains, only an asthonishing loneliness and peace.

flew Lancaster strait reaching Glaciar strait and the ice walls of south of Ellesmere Island refelcted in the blue mirror of artic sea

Turn east heading crossing Baffin Bay and arrived Greenland under a grey thick cloud

Waterland at Wolstenholme Sound because the Pittuffik runway in not set in the simulator (however it is in Flight Planner). The EEUU base, located at Greeland north-west is operated under an agreement between Denmark and EEUU. The first contact with Inughuit population at this area date from 1881

From Aqureyri (BIAR) to Egilsstadir (BIEG)

Took off in the morning for crossing Iceland and flow along the south cost. the island is on top of a hot spot and are the battlefield of tectonic plate collisión. All this geologial activity is hide under the snow.

Eyjafjallajökull volcano, famous for 2010 eruption that closed europe air space for several days. the landslide of past volcanic activity is shown.

Most of iceland volcanos are cover by a thick layer of snow and ice, with heights up to 1000 meters. During volcanic activity, heat creates fast snow and ice melting producing flooding and rapid erosión, this pehnomenon is known as jökulhlaups.

a significant part of Iceland south cost, belongs to National Park and World Heritage Site Vatnajökull. Vatnajökull National Park - Dynamic Nature of Fire and Ice - UNESCO World Heritage Centre. The park represents a magic geological lab where live geology can be witness by science and public. last but not the leaset a singular beauty is shown all across the coast.

Landed at Egilsstadir close to the lake Lagurinn where a prehistoric worm (Lagarfljot monster)swim since the begining of the world

From Egilsstadir (BIEG) to Bergen (ENBR)

Departed From Egilsstadir and flown shortly over Iceland south coast in the new fully 2024 Honda Jet, one of my favourite jets and now number one after the improvements made on the flight model, avionics and interior.

Crossing North Sea flown over Feroe Island, 18 volcanic rocks in the middle of the sea form an autonomous country within Denmark kingdom. A place for a later visit at low level. The next land below are the Shetland island, the northernmost Uk land, a history marked by its relationship with Norway and the Vikings .

Arrived Norway entering the Hjeltefjorden for landing surrounded during the approach by islands,Houses scattered like quiet brushstrokes across the snowy expanse, churches crowned with slender spires shaping a landscape that feels born from the canvas of a master dreamer.

We choose the Begod3d north exit and pass near the Askoy Bridge, one of the most important suspension bridges in Norway, linking the cities of Askoy and Bergen and then turning 180 degrees south to enter the Hardangerjord fjord, the second longest in Norway with 179 km.

The mountains on both sides seem to float on a mirror of water, a landscape of serene beauty, which we fully enjoy from the cabin of the Corvalis. Two fjords further north, Geirangerfjord and Naroyfjord, have been chosen as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but Hardangerjord has nothing to envy to the latter.** **The Hardangerbrue bridge and a high mountain lake are among the gems hidden in the fjord.

At the end, we cross the Hardanjerjokulen glacier, Norway’s sixth glacier and the real scene of the planet Hoth from Star Wars. Before landing, we fly over Oslo, covered by snow that blurs human infrastructures.
