What can we expect from directx 12 in MSFS?

DX12 has bought significant performance gains to P3D, perf really is a major improvement over the Dx11 version. But VRAM usage has become the new limit and for p3d at least is the big problem for VGA cards <8gb VRAM . Whether 2020 sees any benefit or is affected by vram remains to be seen

I was fortunate enough to be able to buy a 3090 with 24gb so not an issue going forward but folk need to be cautious with VGA upgrades and VRAM limits, personally i would not look at anything with less than 11gb

There’s no way they will redo it to direct12 that would take to much time, they will put direct 12 on top of 11 hence why they say there won’t be much improvement.
