What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

Did Denver to Las Vegas yesterday with the beloved TBM 930, was a lovely flight! Tricky wind conditions in Denver as always, bumpy over the Rockies and then some lovely sights over south Utah before flying into the spectacular skyline of Las Vegas!

First just a drone shot of Denver though!

Above Glen Canyon area

and then Las Vegas!

Fly EDDB to LEIB in the 787 VR. Longest crashfree VR airliner flight so far, 138 minutes!

What I like:

No CTD!
Flying in VR

What I dislike:

787 is still half finished, allthough she is basic functional most of the cockpits interior is inoperabel.
Cloud reflections on water looks ugly.
Visible terrain morphing.
“Good locking” terrain textures are sometimes replaced by “ugly looking” textures on approach. What???
Neither the crew nor the cabin nor the passengers are modelled.
Image is too bright and blurry imho, no sunglasses or sunshades available (it was a sunny day today).
HUD is not proper aligned
No screenshot shortcut in VR

I lived in the Savannah area for seven years, and it is an excellent place to live! The only thing to be aware of is that it is prone to flooding, especially in the downtown area.

last couple of days really.

threw away my money in the Marketplace which ‘failed to download purchase’, and then it was just gone into the ether…
Steam refused a refund… for some reason it requested the sim and not the add-on to be refunded… of course they refused, tried again, with the same result

NEVER gonna buy through the marketplace again… there is seemingly NO WAY within the sim to re-initialise a purchase download. - it should NOT be this hard to throw my money at you people!

meantime… took the Spitfire around Cairo, visiting Giza, the Bent Pyramid, and the Step Pyramid, before attempting a VERY risky landing on a road running alongside the Great Pyramid. It was all going swimmingly until I failed to note the ‘drop’ from the air that ruined my landing.

A32X from EHAM-LOWI – really trying to get this very non-standard approach down pat, according to instrument procedure. Still a bit messy. a strong wind slowed my descent, and possible updraft from the mountains. so I was 2000ft over my plan and overspeed… did a go around according to proper procedure and came around for a nice landing

all these hours and still learning… only JUST realising you can switch the AP panel to give a specific GS angle, instead of mentally calculating it in fpm. DOH!

also threw in a early morning Melbourne to Brisbane

tis a shame the Aurora is not modeled yet, we should have a decent display in a few hours, possibly as far south as New York, and as far North as Hobart for the Aurora Australis (which I saw from Melbourne in 1989 when the Canadian grid took a hit)

also appreciating the new external lights on the FBW

Decided to hit the water this time and sure enough MSFS also has great maritime/boat simulation potential. Pulling beside those ships in VR they are gigantic and you really get a feeling of scale.
Operable water vessel addons are already being developed along with road vehicles.
Due to the versatility of MSFS you can capture some beautiful moments and sights from land, sea and air!:beers:

Performed a short trip from LTFJ to LTBJ, the departure was cloudy, was able to see the beautiful sunrise below.

Climbing to 30000ft, above clouds.

Somewhere seems to be foggy.

Final approach.

Taxi towards the gate.

Welcome to İzmir[LTBJ], Turkey

This is the full flight btw. in case anyone is interested.

Tried to fly multiple planes. 3xCTD.

Cleaned my room and PC today, was hyped for some MFSing after a recent reinstall and months of having no motivation to fire that thing up. I got to the end of the runway and was just pulling on the stick when I got CTD’d hard. I’m so disappointed in this app it’s insane. I decided to download X-Plane 11 again and after having gotten used to the eye-candy of MFS realised I couldn’t go back either. The graphics especially around my home area look hardly better than what FSX offered some 15 years ago. Even with Orthos and plugins I feel I would not be a happy doing VFR flying around Europe. So here I am, in desperate need of some aviation in my life but sort of being denied both real and virtual flying. If this “sim” doesn’t behave after a complete system reinstall I might go crazy.

I did quite a bit of flying today, actually, but the most photogenic part was this sunset flight around Oahu in the FlyingIron P-38L Lightning. Such a joy to fly this thing!

I would have submitted this one for this week’s screenshot challenge but it’s not a Marketplace item yet, alas.

Departing from Jose Maria (SKRG) head direct to the Marinilla VOR (113.00) after which we track the outbound 080° radial for 9nm to El Peñón de Guatapé on the shores of the Embalse Del Penol.
