Third flight of the day. A pleasant 80 minute flight from Tulsa, OK (KTUL) to Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Colorado (KBJC). Shot the RNAV into runway 12L and everything went great. Welcome to Colorado and Happy Thanksgiving! YT link to the landing:
MODERATOR EDIT:
Thank you, comrade. I’m holding it in my hands.
Спасибо, товарищ. Я держу это в руках.
Oh, it’s not bad ads, it’s keeping up with all your creations. Cheers!
Short hop from VFR Weiser Mun (S87) to Big Bar USFS (1DA).pln (2.0 KB)
I took a low level route North along Snake River. Some patches of the canyon were fogged in, leading to some great lighting effects as the sun partially illuminated the fog.
A fun 50 minute flight up from Rocky Mountain Metro in Broomfield, CO (KBJC) to Sheridan, WY (KSHR) in our beloved Longitude! Some chop on departure over the Rockies, but otherwise a smooth flight and a pretty slick landing on the ILS runway 33 at Sheridan. Always amusing to pass over the “CRAZY WOMAN” (CZI) VOR. What a name. Fun seeing the upgraded scenery again - been months since we landed here last. Welcome to Wyoming! Off to the ranch! YT link to landing video:
Updated the Nxi so all my settings were changed. Sorted that out and then set an IFR flight from Victoria, Vancouver Island, to Seattle. In cloud alll the way so I missed the gorgeous views of the Rockies. METAR for KSEA in the sim threatened half a mile in heavy rain. The Nxi delivered a seamless ILS and the cloud base was above minimums as was the visibility. Masses of aircraft on the move in the air and on the ground. Told to go round as there was an aircraft on the runway but, in the conditions, and as I could see the runway was clear, I landed. Typical large airport, miles of taxying to park. (Same thing happened at Auckland when I was directed to park where, IRL, there should have been jetways.)
You have a built in editor for weather, if the weather isnt to your liking change it. Yes, its broke, but you can get the metar, and then just manually input the info yourself manually.
The new ■■■■■■ weather to date doesnt make the sim unflyable just more game like.
Night landing at Joao Paulo II Ponta Delgada LPPD runway 12 Rnav.

It’s been a while since I checked back in here. Today was a fun day with lots of flight time. The day started at JFK, ready to take the (fictional) Delta A32NX to Buffalo where an AI pilot ignored a go-around and almost crashed into my plane when I left the runway.
From Buffalo, I set off to Atlanta. And besides a very crowded airspace, I touched down without any issues at all. I still had a few hours with nothing else to do, so I descided to fly back to my base at JFK. After take-off at around 14.000 feet MSFS descided to crash… Sigh…
After a lenghty restart, and having to start cold and dark again… About 35 minutes later, Delta 1799 was on its way to KJFK! The ‘delayed’ departure was made up, however with a tailwind of 110 knots. At New York the landing was pretty tricky: there was a crosswind of 23 knotts. But I put the A32NX succesfully on the ground.
So that was my day on Flight Simulator. If I trusted my PC and MSFS more, I’d take some screenshots… But I don’t
Two incidents east of Hannover. Took injured to a Krankhaus and a Klinik. Circuit, Hannover to Hannover.
An exciting 22 minute flight from (upgraded scenery) Sheridan, WY (KSHR) to Billings, MT (KBIL) (also upgraded scenery) in our beloved Longitude. Flew at FL190 for this 101nm flight. Shot the ILS approach to runway 28R, and it became obvious very early we were destined for a traffic conflict. Poor ATC, it does its best but it doesn’t really excel at spacing lol. After ignoring the inevitable go-around order, we landed without incident and made our way to parking. Airport looked great! Welcome to Montana! YT link to full flight:
Not today really, but the past few weeks I used the excellent JustFlight Warrior to prepare for my checkride (procedures, some manoeuvers, many many approaches in all kinds of weather, a few emergencies).
MSFS is really great for this type of preparation, even if some things are not entirly as the real thing it still gets your mind back into action and exercises those flying gray cells! Once flying IRL you can’t help but think”it’s just like in the simulator”. Makes some things really uneventful.
I passed the checkride.
Yesterday I took the H145 (the best addon for MSFS, by quite a large margin, followed by the Warrior) for a very fast very low flight trough the river moselle valleys in VR… an exhilarating experience!!
Another Hawai’i run for the heli of it. Pleasant surprise was the parking at the USCG station (no USCG station, alas) at Kalaeloa airport - even had a helipad marking. Cruised over to see the “alive” Pearl Harbor scenery - not as alive as last year’s add-on, but has much hope if it gets the tower back on Ford Island and loses the extra Iowa parked in the Southeast Loch; otherwise it’s coming to life.
So, otherwise, with some murky weather moments, it was the usual cruise around O’ahu and off to Kaua’i where I ran into Captain Cousteau, saw some dinos and finished at Port Allen.
I learned a magic trick
The trick of the vanishing airline logo
hocus pocus now you see it:
Alakazam now you dont:
Kalamzo and wazzie too:

145 is the best payware add-on, best freeware is the 135. I can’t get around to flying planes anymore. Helos let me go just about anywhere. Except Diego Garcia.
