Chicago-O’Hare Intl (KORD) to Des Moines (KDSM). I’ve read in a nice and accurate source, that Elvis works in a Burger Lord in Des Moines, so I had to check it out on my American tour.
Now off to find Elvis ![]()

I know Sarah from my Cessna 310R ![]()
Why does that look like you’re about to land on someone’s model railway layout?
Haha because it has background blur (bokeh) applied to it via the drone camera settings
Pretty nice weather in Alaska …
could change within a few minutes …
approaching on Fort Yukon …
huuuh … bad company on parking position …
Did the T1 Hawk tutorial flight, mostly without autopilot. You can see how well that went:
The eagle-eyed may spot that I landed on a taxiway, but in my defense it was a very wide taxiway and I was really well-centered on it, so that’s good enough.
Took the darkstar from CSU2 to CYFB and picking up the dc6 from there
Just finished my very first long flight in the PMDG 737-700, and I got to test my custom Canadian North livery while at it (based on my modernized Canadian Airlines livery).
Today’s flight was a 4hr 30min flight from Ottawa (YOW) to Yellowknife (YZF). The flight took me over some very remote areas of Northern Ontario and Manitoba before flying over the Northwest Territories. The weather was pretty decent at Ottawa with a bit of a crosswind when taking off from RWY 14.
The climb out of Ottawa took almost directly over the city, making for some very picturesque views of downtown and Parliament Hill, with the fall colors on full display!
The cruise was mostly over cloudy skies, so there wasn’t a whole lot to see, and to be honest, these regions of Canada don’t offer a lot of variety aside from massive expanses of forest and an insane amount of lakes and rivers.
After a few hours it was time to descend into Yellowknife. The weather was not great as skies were broken, winds were gusty coming in from the south, and there were patches of rain in and around the region. Nonetheless, this made the approach into RWY 16 a bit more interesting.
Welcome to rainy Yellowknife! Arrived on time and very happy with the PMDG 737! Having flow almost exclusively Airbus aircraft up until now, there’s something quite special about the more “hands-on” approach to operating the 737NG, and this jet almost feels like it belongs in these more remote regions of Canada’s far north. And that airstair is one neat feature!
Montréal to Goose Bay.
Standing at the gate. Fuel, cargo, passengers…
You are cleared to taxi to RW 24L.
Climbing over Montréal, not much to see here today.
Following the Saint-Laurent over Quebec City.
Not much to see either during cruise ; preparing descent while chilling and watching the constellations.
Goose Bay here we come. Prepare for landing.
Welcome to Goose Bay, please keep your seat belt on until the complete stop of the engines.
Thank you for flying Air Transat. Have a great stay.
Flew the PMDG dc6b from CYFB to CYUS
Brought out the Dreamliner for a quick IFR test flight from LAX to Vegas with my current setup. Ran ok until fps tanked on landing, which I’ll have to double-check if it’s a scenery or a traffic issue. Ah, simming!
Landing itself was ok except that ATC didn’t warn me there was a private jet on the runway in front of me. ![]()
(User error: I missed the final handoff to tower! Hah. Too busy aviating to communicate.
)
Sometimes there is just no time to fly…
Made a new cockpit integ lighting for pilots who don´t use the brighter-integ-light mod (but of course it won´t look that AWESOME amber-gold-like simply because it´s not bright enough) while listening to Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil 1 soundtracks, and now finally the radio panels LCD dials are illuminated in the same orange colour tone as seen in EVERY Airbus photo ![]()
Yes fiiiiine Airbus - yes this is how the radio looks like on every single Google search and Airbus website picture ![]()
VFR Oulu (EFOU) to Kajaani (EFKI) on Vatsim. I had a ton of charts open, I checked them all, but still came a bit unprepared for the flight. However Helsinki control was really helpful and understanding, gave very useful tips in private messages. A BIG thumbs up to you!
I found out that there are three types of radio panels the Airbus A320 family is using… and the one using green triangular shaped indicator lights has white LCD dials (that´s the one used in the Fenix). And only the radio panel with the round LED indicator has orange illuminated dials.
Hours of texture modding yesterday for nothing
but at least reversing to default only lasted a few seconds by using the backup texture.
Too bad I really liked the orange radio look because on all photos it looks like this ![]()
But I keep the Captain Sully design of the light grey autopilot panel that matches the rest of the glareshield RAL colour tone - no matter if it´s mostly found on EIS1 cockpits! By the way PMDG should create some marvelous 3D-fur-rendering sheepskin seats for that Airbus cockpit version.
Wondering if this gentleman needs some support with his weight problem (515 pounds), maybe low-carb food and sugarfree drinks.
When flying with one passenger one is not getting the average 85kg weight (187 pounds) here.![]()
