I flew an entire session without tinkering with settings to improve performance. I think that was a first for me. XD
Flew from LIRJ to LIPZ in my newly delivered vision jet.
As I sat ready to roll on rwy 34 there was an unmistakable mountainous hill at the end and it was pretty clear I should have consulted the departure charts before getting this far. I quickly pulled them up and discovered you need to fly a visual dog leg immediately after takeoff to get around this hill and escape out of the valley. Pretty cool, I’ll be back to do this one again (and improve with it too.)
I then jumped into my boat for the trip from the airport into Venice and along the Grand Canal.
Most airports have a bus depot not docks for mooring boats. ![]()

The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a vast inland delta formed where the Okavango River reaches a tectonic trough at an altitude of 930 - 1,000 m in the central part of the endorheic basin of the Kalahari. It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the few interior delta systems that do not flow into a sea or ocean, with a wetland system that is largely intact. All the water reaching the delta is ultimately evaporated and transpired.
It’s JPL C152 time today. KMYF → F70 → KRIV → KFUL. I could fly around incrementally adding legs to this route all day. Lots of navigation using all of the things including Autopilot and NDB, many landings and touch and go’s at KFUL, practiced approaching the airport a few times plus a few circles over the Magic Kingdom. Some taxiing practice as well as a few shutdowns and startups. No incidents! Love the way this plane flies.
Happy Virtual Aviating!!
Currently flying from Paris CDG - Madrid MAD on AirFrance 777-300er C/S AFR4957
We had a really nice community flight
KMCI - KVER - KSUS
Oh,btw, we all had this bugs at Jefferson CIty ![]()
You mean the one ending against the hill??!! Looks terrifying: which strip is that?
Lovely images: well done. I also noticed you were able to post images at 2880 x 1800 in the forum. My recent images have all been resized to 1920 x 1080: do you have a trick to be able to post at higher resolution?
Thanks
Alwyn
Thank you!
The landing strip is the light patch below the right wing tip.
That’s BDZ, I think. Part of an addon „14 challenging bush strips“ (or so).
I just drag and drop the images into the reply text field in Firefox, and let the uploads run through.
Took the SF50 Vision jet out for a spin across socal today. After a couple days playing with military jets it felt downright leisurely, topping out around Mach 0.523 at FL240 ![]()
You can tell this plane was made for pilot-owners with money to burn, rather than practicality: the visibility out the front windows is amazing, as that’s where the purchase decision maker is expected to sit!
Compare with the HJet where the money guy’s sitting in the back seat asking for more champagne, and the pilot only has to see enough for IFR… ![]()
Cool thanks: I will have to try both the scenery and the photograph process!
For sure! This plane was designed for mega-rich dads to use like a family car. This is why it has the amazing “safe return” button, because middle aged or older rich dad doesn’t want his family to be in an accident if he has some kind of medical emergency. If I was a mega-rich dad I’d certainly buy one of these in real life, I love flying it in the sim. I’m only 1 out of 2 for mega-rich, dad, so I’m confident I’ll only ever fly this in the sim.
This is also why I bought the vision jet and not the hjet. They are a similar price in the sim, and with the stunning MSFS graphics I care more about looking out of those windows.
Just flown RJAA Tokyo to YPAD Adelaide in the A310. 10.5h overnight flight. Having taken off in the dark and flown the first leg I handed over to the relief crew while I slept. I came back on shift a bit before Alice Springs to fly the final leg.
Unfortunately no pics from the stunning scenes over the outback with Lake Eyre in full flood(!). My camera had broken, in fact when I tried to screenshot the xbox gave me an error saying I needed to start a game before I could screenshot. The xbox had apparently forgotten it was running MSFS?
The ATC was too slow to give me descent in the STAR again, meaning I had to use the spoilers and ended up coming in too high.
The autopilot tried to kill me for reasons I don’t understand. Everything was stabilised and ready for landing, on about a 3 mile final ILS Z 23, when inexplicably it suddenly banked hard left and descending aiming directly to hit the CBD. I just managed to grab the controls and hit TOGA, just missing the tops of the fortunately not very tall buildings in Adelaide! After that I stabilised and manually controlled the autopilot back around to try again.
By now the ATC had completely stopped talking to me, which made vectoring for the go around harder than it ought to be. When on final this time I took full manual control because I didn’t trust it, and was low on fuel after such a long flight.
I got black screens about a mile before the runway. One thing I really like about the A310 is the steam gauges, so on black screens I can still hand fly it properly, can’t do that on the A320! Anyway I touched down a little long and then parked up at the gate with no further ado.
After I’d powered down and switched to drone to enjoy the view the game did CTD but I don’t care about that. Managing a 10h flight on the series X with only loss of ATC, screens, automatics, camera, but no CTD before parking is a minor miracle. (I know, I’ve tried this several times.)
Be sure to scroll down and read the dependencies for the scenery. ![]()
