Couldn’t leave my Albatros behind, so I flew a nice circle from Crater Lake-Klamath Rgnl (KLMT) to Chiloquin (2S7) including Wizard Island, Diamond Lake and Chemult. Had no trouble with freakers
I flew from Roman Tmetuchl International Airport (PTRO) to Sam Ratulangi International Airport (WAMM).
I am thinking of going home, but somehow I am in Indonesia.
I need to charge my son’s aspirator, but the voltage.
Flying from Wawa to Thunder Bay. Had to ground the Kodiak due to some scheduled maintenance. Luckily I was able to secure a trusty Bonanza G36 to continue my Canada crossing.
On a side note, i finally figured out how to work the drone camera. Looking forward to better pictures in the future.
Had to go test out the cam somewhere close to my heart.
I finished my longest flight to date earlier this morning, a 10hr overnight flight from snowy Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to a warm and sunny Santiago de Chile (SCL) on the Headwind A330-900neo.
I loaded up at Pearson and departed at around 10:30pm. The departure was from RWY23 and it pretty much lined me up for the southbound flight. I took off, leveled out and basically left the sim running while I slept, waking up in the morning to prepare for the approach into SCL.
I woke up and managed to catch the sunrise as the plane cruised over central Peru. The Andes mountains made an amazing silouhette on the horizon as the sky began get brighter. At this stage, everything was going great in terms of fuel burn and on-time performance.
A few hours later and I was nearing central Chile, crossing over the coast near La Serena. It wouldn’t be long before I started my decent into Santiago.
The approach had some spectacular scenery, with the Pacific coast off to the right and the snow-capped Andes to the left. The allmighty Mount Aconcagua stood out as an impressive feature on the Andes mountain range.
Bienvenidos a Santiago de Chile! Landed a bit ahead of schedule and with more fuel in the tanks than expected, but overall it was a wonderful flight (though I slept through much of it!). The A330-900neo was a champ, managing to fly the 10hr flight without a single issue. And man is the approach into Santiago absolutely beautiful. I’ll definetely start flying around this part of the world more often now!
Spent a ‘lovely’ time with the WBSim 172 at Blackpool. Was intending to fly to Prestwick, but the weather put paid to that!
One quick traffic pattern and horrible landing later, I hopped into the more robust Flysimware 414 and got to Prestwick.
Even then it was a pretty dodgy attempt at landing - it was a definite go-around candidate for sure, but I managed it.
So many updates of the DC-3 mod, so I also tested my UK SE scenery with SU11. Worked fine, with a bit of lag at EGLL, but none after that all the way into LFPO
I started my Around the World journey, a 74 leg tour, starting in Victoria BC, Canada and travelling through 34 countries, returning to Victoria.
I left Victoria’s ‘balmy’ 11C, travelling 2300km north and east, arriving in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut with a windy -12C sunset to great me. There was occasional traffic to cross paths with until Yellowknife but it was only me and my TBM930 for the 2.5 hour stretch from Yellowknife to Rankin Inlet.
